After The Rave

“Whew!  What a rave!” Kazper said, entering zeir new friend Aline’s apartment and flopping down on the couch.  “That was a ton of fun.” 

“Agreed,” Aline said.  Unlike the humanoid alien, she was an anthro fox, and once she closed & locked her apartment door, she got a brush and ran it through her frazzled fur.  “That was wild!” 

“Thanks for letting me stay the night,” Kazper said to Aline.  “I don’t have a permanent home yet here on Earth, so I’m kinda just crashing on people’s couches for right now. . . I hope I’m not a bother.” 

“Don’t worry, it’s totally fine,” Aline said, sitting in the loveseat next to zem.  “It gets lonely sometimes in this apartment—I enjoy having the company!” 

Kazper smiled.  “Thanks, Aline.  You’re the best!” 

Aline smiled back.  “No problem.  Now, you said earlier that you wanted the television to lull you to sleep—want me to switch it on?” 

“Yes please!” 

Aline picked up the remote and turned on the TV.  The station she’d been watching previously was airing their late night programming, which, in this case, was reruns of Murder She Wrote.  Kazper lay down on the couch and closed zeir eyes as Jessica Fletcher tried to solve her latest mystery. 

Aline walked up to the closet and took out a blanket.  She brought it over and put it over Kazper.  “Goodnight, my new alien friend,” she said with a smile.  Then she walked over to her bedroom, and went to sleep. 

Kazper smiled.  Ze had heard everything.  “Goodnight,” ze said with a happy sigh.
