Basic Planetary / System Information


    I feel the need to mention that the Dzhokaen’s planet is heavily based on the carboniferous period irl, with arthropods being the most abundant, however reptiles and amphibians are still present.     

    There is quite literally no mammals or birds to be found (having had not needed to evolve said traits), with the reptiles and insects respectively filling those roles ecologically. Plants and fungi are significantly taller then modern day earth, but for the most part true trees are dwarfed by their larger fungal and fern counterparts, and flowers are typically found in the swampy regions in oppose to the more rainforest-like sections.

     The planet’s ‘polar’ regions are more akin to warm tropical coniferous forests, albeit with their conifers being much taller, and more similar to the Retrophyllum Minus of New Caledonia, in oppose to what one would generally imagine a conifer resembling.

    However, due to the high oxygen levels, and the incredibly humid and warm climate, the planet is incredibly susceptible to intense lightning storms- which are known to be significantly worse in the rainforest regions. However, like in Australia, certain species evolved to use the all too common (yet easily contained due to the water) fires to their advantage. Be it to spread their spores and seeds, or to drive out prey.

    

    They also happen to be in a binary star system, specifically orbiting a class G (similar to our sun) and class M star (Red Dwarfs). The orbit of said planet is a P type binary star orbit, meaning they orbit both stars in oppose to just one. Due to the weakness of the red dwarf they aren’t much warmer or brighter then earth, however the ambient radiation levels are somewhat higher due to the red dwarf. Luckily for the inhabitants, having evolved in such a climate makes said radiation rather irrelevant, and as such they are much more hardy and resilient to its effects then life on earth.
