Thoughts And Spaces
In my little room in front of my silly computer,
Is a place where I can call home…
A place where people accept who I am,
A place where I feel full…
However, as each day passes, it feels less safe.
“It’s suffocating.”
“It hurts.”
“It’s uncomfortable.”
My safe space turns into a whole different world each time she steps in.
Bit. By bit. Slowly and painfully.
Then you start to think…
“Am I just lacking? Is that why you won’t try to understand me?”
Moments of silence follow your thoughts,
your mother standing in front of you.
Disappointed.
But of course, that little space you’d like to call safe,
is never safe.
The ideals you keep wishing for,
The praising you long for,
The happiness you seek is always overshadowed by the despair that finds you.
