It had just rained and the scent of mushrooms were strong in the air. As Flit slithered through the wet grass, it couldn't help turning its head towards the source of the scent, wherever it may be.

(What do mushrooms after rain smell like anyways? Can't tell, ask the Talavak.)

It takes a short while, but Flit finally tracks it down to a burrow well hidden with dead grass and carefully piled twigs. The rain had just stopped a few minutes ago, no more than thirty so Flit expected newly bloomed mushrooms untouched and still attached to the Earth. Yet, here were a bunch of uprooted mushrooms, fresh from the storm, all stacked up and ready for a feast!

Flit chittered happily and circled the entrance once before diving in and grabbing a handful of mushrooms. He was still smiling when he saw the red eyes deep within the burrow. Flit nearly dropped the mushrooms he had in his hands! The smile on his face withered as Chomp snapped their jaws, narrowly missing Flit as it gathers as many mushrooms as it can in their arms and backed out of the burrow.

CHOMP! CHOMP!

Yikes! That's the third time Ol'Teeth nearly got its tail!!

Flit ran as fast as it could, but somehow, Chomp was still keeping up! What's with them anyways?! Can they even eat mushrooms?? It's just a couple, it wasn't as though Flit took all the mushrooms in the burrow, just as much as its arms could carry while running-- which wasn't much because it was dropping as it ran. Finally, Flit ducked under a fallen tree branch and--

SMACK!

Chomp ran right into it! They were far too big to duck under, but they didn't realize it until they already hit the branch headfirst. Chomp squealed in pain and Flit took this chance to run away and disappear into the grass. Even at a good distance away, Flit could still hear Chomp growling and shuffling through the grass in an attempt to find it.

Flit let out a sigh, in the end, it could only get away with one tiny mushroom.
