Spud is on a quest to meet a legendary necromancer because his friend, Silv, had died in a magic related accident and he wants to bring her back to life. Sadly, he doesn't have enough skill to completely revive someone, only temporarily summon random spirits from the underworld to fight stuff. So, he plans on asking the legendary necromancer to either bring Silv back, or at least teach him how to. Along the way, he meets others with a similar goal and they decide to travel together.

The party ventures to an enchanted cave. Rumors had spread throughout a nearby town that people known to be dead had appeared in there. Once they had stepped inside, they saw that the cave was a huge maze and a strange wave of light flashed on them. They decided to split up to speed up the search.

Spud winds up in a room-like area with rainbow crystals on the walls. He sees a flash similar to the one when the group entered the cave and there she was. Silv, the friend that he saw die right in front of him, the reason he was on this quest, completely unharmed. Even Zeke, who was brought back to life better than Sped had ever seen before, still showed signs of the fact that he was undead, with gray skin and red eyes. Spud couldn't believe it. Were the rumors really true? He knew better than to believe it, but it was so nice to see her face again. Silv floated toward him like an angel her arms welcoming him to an embrace.

"You look so pale compared to the last time we were together," she said. Spud nearly started crying when he heard her voice again. The worst part was that as much as he wanted to believe that she was really here, in front of him, he knew it was just an illusion of the cave. If it were real, there wouldn't be rumors, there would be coming here all the time. That first flash must've been a memory scan, he thought. He considered playing along, just for a little while, and afterward he'd leave and find the mage who'd enchanted the cave and ask why they were doing this. For now, though, he could at least pretend whatever was in front of him was really Silv. Maybe he'd even try to hug it.
