Nightmares and soothing

There are so many terrifying questions that echo throughout Bunny's mind. She can't tell if she's imagining it or not, but everything around her is wilting or decaying. Slowly the rotting wave comes closer, and no matter how hard she runs, no matter which turn she takes, it only gets closer. She's screaming, crying, begging for anyone to save her! And then a flash of light appears behind her, and before she can tell the figure to run the scent of rotting flesh meets her nose. She falls to her knees, horrified as Jupiter's body melts down to ashes as she lets out agonized screams. She tries to reach out, grab Jupiter before she fades completely, but instead her scared, powerful grip disintegrates the area she clutched, and with that there was nothing left... No one, left.

Jupiter has a hold on the tiny body writhing on her leg, on big hand cradled around the small form of her soulmate as she uses a finger to rub slow circles on Bunny's back. The large hyena hybrid is confused and worried, but right now what Bunny needs is a rock to hold on to - and Jupiter would always be there. She's shushing her quiet sobs, fingers lacing between the silky locks resting on top of her soulmates sweat soaked head.

"D-don't... go..." Bunny murmurs, as she starts to still. Jupiter isn't satisfied though, and presses small kisses to her hair as she continues to try ad soothe her soulmate. She responds in kind, promising never to leave Bunny in any situation no matter how dire. She's worried, oh so worries, but the tears soaking her chest fur from Bunny's nightmare is enough to keep her grounded. Jupiter lets out a soft sigh of relief as Bunny stops crying and shaking, and instead she hugs tighter to Jupiter's form. She presses more kisses and adjusts Bunny so that she can rest comfortably on her chest.

At some point all she knows is that the feeling of Bunny's heart beat and the soft sound of her breaths had soothed her tension, and she'd slipped into a daze of sorts while rubbing Bunny's back. But she does distinctly remember hearing a thank you, followed by a soft embarrassed I love you as she slips into sleep.
