“I’m so glad we came here today! The aquarium isn’t very busy on a Wednesday afternoon..” Bunny quietly cheered in excitement as the two entered the corridor of the aquarium before rounding the corner and coming face to face with wall to ceiling fish tanks. Each tank was filled with numerous fish in all different shapes, sizes, and colours.

Jupiter said nothing, but gave a sweet smile to let Bunny know she was listening to her. She didn’t want to interrupt after all, Bunny just seemed so excited and it wasn’t too often that she got this way. Especially not in public. She would do anything to see her soulmate smile.

“Jupiter look at this one!” Bunny said in astonishment, running up to one of the tanks and sticking her face against the glass. “I think it’s called a Blue Marble Angelfish.” Jupiter grinned, following the love of her life towards the tank. “Gosh you’re so adorable right now.” She chuckled lightly, nuzzling the top of Bunny’s head affectionately. Bunny blushed beat red, pulling on the edges of her turtleneck in an attempt to cover her face. “Thank you..” She mumbled meekly.

“I love you.” Jupiter said, placing a small kiss on the top of Bunny’s head.

“And I love you.” Bunny responded, smiling up at Jupiter for a moment before her bashfulness took over and she had to look away. Public displays of affection made her nervous, and shy. She just wished the two of them were completely alone and back home, that would be a safe place to show her whole feelings. She nibbled on her lip, debating on whether she should say something else or not before Jupiter pointed to another fish tank with Jellyfish swimming around in it. “Look over there, the Jellyfish almost look like they’re glowing.”

“You’re right, they do.” Bunny agreed, moving closer to the tank and examining it. “It’s probably due to the lights overhead or something, huh?” Jupiter pondered as she looked around.

“You know who's really glowing? You. With beauty.” Bunny mumbled out quietly, half wanting her comment to go unheard, and half wanting Jupiter to hear her. Afterall, she loved her with all her heart, and enjoyed complimenting her to see her smile grow. Jupiter’s eyes widened slightly as a grin spread across her cheeks. “Thanks.” She chuckled, nuzzling the top of Bunny’s head once again in affection. “You’re wonderful my little Bunny.” She sighed in content.

Bunny hummed, bouncing on the back of her heels and once again playing with the edges of her turtleneck. She cleared her throat and changed the topic. “These fish are really colourful.” Bunny pointed out, “The sticker here says they’re called German Blue Ram fish. Sounds exotic.” Jupiter read aloud. “Interesting…” Bunny trailed off in wonder as she continued to look at the hordes of different fish surrounding the two of them.

Some fish were plain, black and white with small fins, others were expectant fish like goldfish, and some were so big and so bright the two of them thought they outshine any other fish they’d ever seen.

They continued to wander through the aquarium, stopping in the cafe for a short lunch before finishing off their date by circling back for a final look around before they headed home.

Jupiter bought Bunny a little fish keychain at the gift shop to attach to her yellow bag and Bunny bought her a little pin that said ‘Fish friendly’ on it to stick to her flannel. The two shared a few laughs before leaving the aquarium. It wasn’t too often that they splurged on random goodies.

“I wish we never had to leave the aquariums we visit. I love looking at all of the fish with you.” Bunny sighed, happy for the visit, but disappointed that they would once again have to leave the aquarium behind. “What if we got a fish?” Jupiter suggested. She had thought about it here and there. She didn’t see any down sides to getting a fish, the two of them loved fish and would be great at taking care of one or a few.

Bunny’s eyes lit up with joy and excitement, “You mean it?” She asked, grabbing onto Jupiter with her small paws and looking up at her. “I mean it. We love fish, we love the aquariums, so why don’t we just install one in our own home?” Jupiter smiled brightly down at Bunny. She placed a small kiss on her head and the two began discussing which kind of fish they should get, and how many.

“I would like to get many, but I think it would be best if we start off with the basics. Like a Goldfish.” Bunny suggested. It was always good to start out small in case something happened. And they weren’t completely sure just how many fish the two of them could care for at one time. Definitely not a whole aquarium though.

Jupiter nodded in agreement and the two headed home for the night. Over dinner the discussed getting a fish more, what it would cost them, where they would get it, and more.

The decided on getting a tank and all of the supplies they needed for the fish, then setting it up in their house before going out and buying a fish. That way the poor thing wouldn’t have to sit in a small container while they messed around with the tank installment. But just like that, in a few days time they had the tank set up, fish food, and the perfectly healthy and happy Goldfish swimming around in its new home.

“He looks so happy!” Bunny squealed, “Thank you Jupiter!” She quietly shouted as she launched herself into the arms of Jupiter who caught her easily. She laughed and held her close, “Thank you Bunny. I think this is a wonderful step forward in our relationship and our lives together.” She grinned, nuzzling her face against Bunny.

“I do too. We’re going to make great fish parents.” Bunny smiled back, nuzzling Jupiter as well as they watched the fish in bliss.
