Rohan: 15

Rohan

His tail twitched some in mild agitation, huffing some stretching out a little and giving a small grumble, an answering growl sounding behind him. "Will you shut up with your grumbling? Its hot, we get it." Toast snapped at him, making him turn his head to eye his mate, tail twitching in clear annoyance. "We live in the desert, its always hot.., but this is something else entirely. He complained. "It's never been *this* hot before." He complained. He wasn't even moving and was inside their home for his mates clan. It was now he wished he had been at Oasis for this. At least he could watch a good fight and maybe earn something while he drank cooling water and work off some of the irritability.

"It is oss, and I don't like it." He whined, putting his head back down and giving another grumble, which only made Toast give him a shove with her foot. "Well there's no use complaining about of when nothing can be done about it." She told him, sighing. Which only made him grumble a little more if only to annoy her, smirking slightly as he met her gaze before even that was too much effort and he put his head down. The heat had seemed to be making everyone quite irritable today it seemed.

"Something is wrong." He told her lightly, sighing some and looked out the door, seeing the familiar waves of heat that made it look like water in the distance. "It isn't normal, even here." He muttered. The superstition that was often a trait of those of the oasis shining through. Despite him not usually being the particularly superstitious type. "There is nothing wrong. It's just hotter then usual today." She chided, making him give yet another huff. "Well when the world falls apart, just remember I told you so." He muttered, making his mate roll her eyes at his dramatics. The male drifting off to a restless, sweaty sleep.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

It was later evening when he finally pushed himself back up. The time when the sun was lowering and the world was supposed to start cooling down... SUPPOSED to. But it didn't feel much cooler at all, making him give yet another grumble as rubbed the sleep from his eyes, his pelt still damp, twitching some in clear annoyance as he looked back outside.

What he hadn't expected was to hear... something... his head cocked some and his brows furrowed, looking down at the ground and looking rather confused. It was like this that his mate came back in to see him. "What are you doing now?" She asked, sounding a little exasperated with her mate, Rohan putting up a finger. "Listen." He whispered lowly.

She looked at him oddly but went silent, starting to listen along with him. It was only a few moments before she gave a sound. "What is that?" She asked, sounding confused. "I don't know.., but I don't think its anything good." He told her. The earth below him having an odd kind of cracking and rumbling, not sure of it was something to worry about or not. Toast leaving to talk to her mother about the odd sounds.

It wasn't long before the rumbling grew louder, and then everything seemed to happen all at once. The ground shook and tore in half, from it came a great burst of black and a bubbling of red. Rohan moving back as quickly as he could before running off, calling for his mate as screams and cries of fear came from outside. The world itself seeming to try and deafen him with splitting itself open.
