"Dinner was delicious," Grandma said as she stood from the table. She picked up the plates from the table and walked over to the sink. Mouri stood from the table and walked out of the kitchen without a word. Grandma knew she was still worried about the egg. She placed the dishes in the sink and started running the warm water. She grabbed the dishrag and the dish soap and started washing the dishes. She had finished watching a couple of the plates when she heard yelling. She paused trying to hear words.

Mouri burst into the kitchen. "Grandma!" she screamed making Grandma drop the dishrag into the sink.

"Mouri! What is it?" Grandma exclaimed with a hand on her chest. She turned to face the younger Katragoon. "Are you trying to give an old Kat a heart attack?"

"Grandma! I found another egg!" Mouri exclaimed still in a panic. "What are we going to do?!"

The elderly Kat dried her hands and walked over to the younger one. "Take a deep breath," she said putting her hands on Mouri's shoulders. She started breathing deep to get Mouri to follow her lead. Once she accomplished that, she put her fingers on Mouri's chin and lifted so she could look at her in the eye. "Now that we're past that, we'll put this egg with the other one. Ok?" Mouri nodded. She was almost in tears. Grandma smiled at her. "It will be alright." She put her hand on her cheek.

Mouri slowly nodded again. Then, she looked down at the egg that she clutched to her chest. It looked like the other one. She sniffled and then looked back up at her grandmother. "Will you take care of it for me? I don't want to accidentally break it." She sniffled again.

Grandma nodded. "I can do that for you, Dear," she said holding out a hand for the egg. Mouri handed the egg over and stepped aside so Grandma could take the new egg to where she set up the first one. She watched as Grandma walked down the hall.

Grandma made a stop at the hallway closet for another basket and blanket. She made her way to the living room again. Mouri hesitated before following her to the living room. She stopped at the doorway refusing to go in. She felt like her very presence might do something to sabotage the eggs.

Grandma, again, carefully set the egg on the couch as she did up the new basket the same as the first one. Once the egg was tucked safely into the basket, she walked over to the end table with it and began rearranging the baskets and the lamps. The whole time Mouri peered around the corner to watch. Grandma stepped back and smiled down at the two eggs. She reached out and tenderly brushed each egg. "Everything will be alright. You'll grow up to be strong," she said to the eggs knowing Mouri was watching and listening.
