Spider!Leslie Introduction in script format
Exactly what it says on the tin. Inspired by the introes made in Spiderverse
EXT. NY SKYLINE
ON WATCHER, CROUCHED on top of building, cape FLUTTERING in the wind.
LESLIE(V.O.)
Let's start at the beginning.
My name's Leslie Chen.
EXT. NY STREET - FLASHBACK
Leslie in civilian clothing, STRUGGLING to carry a comical amount of art equipment. He DROPS a canvas on the ground and LEANS to PICK IT UP. In the UPWARD MOTION, the camera PANS AROUND to reveal the NY STREET with more MAGICAL ELEMENTS -- people in archaic clothing, modern magical stores that are lit with glowing runes, etc.
LESLIE(V.O.)
I'm a struggling artist from a New York that's
slightly more... mystical.
Different shots of CIVILIAN LESLIE watching OVERWHELMINGLY HUGE fights from a distance, furiously sketching the sights.
LESLIE(V.O.)
I was content to let the higher powers
of the world duke it out,
supporting from the sidelines.
EXT. CITY RUINS - FLASHBACK
The city is DAMAGED with FIRES still raging in the background. Leslie is injured and bloodied. His gaze is DETERMINED, however, with a hint of DESPERATION. He CASTS A SPELL from an ARCANE TOME, LIGHTING UP the ruins with a GHASTLY ENERGY.
A MALICIOUS DARKNESS SWELLS over him, LOOKING DOWN with DOZENS of EYES. It seems to FILL LESLIE with POWER -- he dons the WATCHER suit, and shots FLASH PAST of him THWIPPING around and SAVING PEOPLE in trouble.
LESLIE(V.O.)
But things got dire.
So I made a deal with a Spider God.
Saved my people.
Failed my people.
Whatever.
Watcher standing ALONE, BROKEN, but FILLED WITH an UNEARTHLY POWER. It STREAKS across the edges of the screen, something DARK, and REPUGNANT, as if a LINE HAS BEEN CROSSED.
LESLIE(V.O.)
Some risks are just worth taking.
EXT. NY BUILDINGS - FLASHBACK
Watcher JUMPS FROM BUILDING TO BUILDING, LAUNCHING himself with the mystic webslingers that LIGHT UP and ROTATE around his wrists like a MAGIC CIRCLE.
LESLIE(V.O.)
For the last five years
I've been the one and only Spider Man.
You already know the rest, I assume.
WATCHER's SPIDER SENSE tingles, but before he knows it, he is SWALLOWED UP BY A PORTAL.
AN EXPLOSION ROCKS THE SCREEN. Watcher TUMBLES, but RIGHTS HIMSELF quickly. He BRUSHES HIMSELF OFF, reaching up to TAKE OFF HIS MASK, looking at his new surroundings with mild curiosity.
The shot PANS OUT to see the Spiderverse universe we know and love, the traditional NYC skyline that is so unfamiliar to WATCHER.

Fortune telling isn't my area of expertise,
though, so I have to admit;
I'm kinda curious to see what happens next.
