Erik's Backstory

When she was around 15, a young woman named Mary Kairil ran away from her family. Why? Because she hated them, and what she was linked to by blood... Demons. Mary absolutely despised this side of her, and so she pushed it down and out of the way, into the back of her subconscious. Around a year later she found a place to stay, a home with a very religious couple, and thus her last name became Remila...

Skip ahead a few more years, now 20 and on her own in the world for good, she got a good full time job, and along the way she met a sweet, handsome young man named Jackson Amare who was 21, and who she would later on marry. Then, soon after their honeymoon, the pair find out that Mary is pregnant!

Then, nine months later, on September 9th, XX the lovely Cali Anne Amare is born as a healthy little girl. It was as if heaven had blessed Mary with everything she wanted, a normal life, with a normal family, and everything was absolutely perfect, and absolutely nothing could go wrong! Until....

When she was 14, Cali got a sweet little pit bull who she named Fizgig, Fizgig was a gift from her father and within the first year of having him, the two have grown attached to eachother and usually go everywhere together.

But when she turned 15, Cali's demon half made itself known as her powers began to bleed out and randomly go off. It was then that her mother forced her to get them under enough control, and Mary, being the pious, judgmental woman she was, turned from loving to hateful towards Cali, though never when they were around Jackson, since to Jackson, Cali was still his daughter, and nothing could change that. demon blood or not.

This continued for a little over two more years, though, the second half only got worse as Cali began going through a "phase" of mental distress that in turn lead to her seeing a psychiatrist, which then lead to her finding out about being pansexual, and shortly after that, trans. It was a confusing and disorienting experience for her, but Cali knew it deep down, she knew that it was who she is. But this information just enraged her mother more...

Finally, the day after his seventeenth birthday, Erik Amare, formerly known as Cali, was forced to leave for good... Why you ask? Well, two weeks prior Erik and Mary attempted to have a civil, and generally calm conversation... But at some point Mary snapped, she had suppressed her demon side so long that, just like a volcano, the energy mixed with hatred bottled up until it exploded.... Erik tried to run away, but Mary grabbed him by the wrists and began mumbling something, something Erik couldn't understand. But after all of this was done, Mary returned to her normal self and was mortified by what she did to her only child... this caused her to go crazy and she had to be checked into a mental hospital... but Erik was not in a good place either afterwards... See, what Mary did while in her rage filled, demonic state, she had cursed Erik, and slowly a black ring from his wrist spread up his arms, very slowly decaying the flesh it affects. This is why he keeps his arms bandaged 24/7. Though, oddly enough the bandages seem to slow or even stop the, as he calls it, black decay from spreading further.

After all this was done, Erik's father, Jason slowly began to grow paranoid and fearful of Erik, believing he caused Mary to go insane and that it was all his fault that things were no longer perfect like they were just 10 years ago. Then, the day after his 17th birthday, the day he was forced to leave, Erik had a horrifying encounter with his father. Jackson had waited until after dinner to do this, but he took a shotgun that he previously acquired through a friend, went to Erik's room and planned to kill him. Now, with a gun pointed at his head, hardly any control of his powers, and fresh tears streaming down his face Erik had no hope of surviving.. Until a switch flipped, and like the rest of his mother's family, Erik's "Other Half" appeared, using his telekinetic ability with ease and threw Jackson back, knocking him out. Twenty minutes later, after packing everything he needed, Erik left, never to return to his home again. However, unbeknownst to him, Jackson still hunts for Erik to this day.
