A cat and a bath? What can go wrong with that?

(No longer canon! It's pretty old and out of date.)

The rain tapped against the window, though the sound was muffled by the television currently blasting the 'Doctor Who' theme song. Cody was curled into his boyfriend's side, head resting on his shoulder as his eyes focused on the screen in front of them. It came as no surprise that the two of them never noticed the feline scratching at the corner of their window, grumpy meows falling from the creature's mouth. It was only when their own cat jumped up onto the window to paw at the other cat through the glass that the two of them realized. Well, Sam did anyway. Cody was too invested in the tv to bother looking up. The taller of the two hummed, tilting his head as the cat outside seemingly glared at him. Cats couldn't openly express their emotions, but Sam could already tell that he wasn't happy. Not at all. He couldn't blame him if he was; his fur was completely drenched and it was freezing outside, with it being the middle of winter. After a moment or two of watching the cat try to get in through force, Sam shifted.

"Ge' off.."

He had to wait another few moments but eventually Cody moved, if reluctantly, towards the other end of the couch. The elder rolled his eyes at the slowness before standing, arms moving up as he stretched. A low groan left him before he made his way over to the window, watching as their cat quickly made a beeline for the door upon realizing he was about to open the window. She hated getting even slightly wet, so he wasn't that bothered by it. The red head pushed open the window, being mindful of the feline perched just beside it. He couldn't risk him falling, they were on the second floor; the thought itself made him wonder how the cat got up here in the first place. Sam didn't even have to tell him to come in before he was darting in through the space created between his arm and the window. At the very least he'd have expected some hesitance from the feline, but he was obviously wrong. His arm was soaked just from reaching outside, so he was almost certain the cat would be worse off. His gaze turned to the small creature. Even as a stray, he was quite fluffy and right now, his fur looked like it'd been stuck to his skin. A sigh left him at that. Sam had dealt with this cat before when it came to washing and drying him. He'd ended up with scratches, some quite deep, all the way up his arms and other places. He wasn't the biggest fan of having to clean him. He might as well get him washed whilst he was here, Cody's nose was scrunching at the smell he'd brought in with him.

"Ziggy, c'mere."

The cat, aka Ziggy, walked over, seemingly not a 100% knowledgeable on what was about to happen to him. Sam was grateful for that. His hands hooked under the feline's stomach, pulling him up so as he was sitting on his arms whilst leaning against his chest. His body pressed against the source of heat that was Sam. The purring was quick to die down though when he was set in the bath tub however. Wide eyes watched as Sam set about gathering everything, noting Sam was being cautious in his movements. He'd learnt from his mistake of using the shower last time, judging from the fact he'd turned the handle of the bath on instead. He wouldn't need to hold him until he got used to being in the water. A small chuckled left him as the felines' paws were quickly immersed in water. Ziggy started to slosh around in the water, loud meows falling from him every time he tried to pull himself out of the bath only to fall back into the water. It was a funny sight, so long as he didn't end up attacking him in his attempt to escape. After the water reached the cats middle, he leaned over to grab the soap they used for their own cats. They wouldn't mind sharing, not that they had a choice in doing so anyway. He squirted some onto his hand before cautiously starting rub the soap onto the cat's fur. He quickly jumped back when a low growl came from the feline, flashbacks from their previous bath coming back into mind. After a sharp intake of breath, he moved back, holding the male by his sides tightly. With him in a secure hole, Sam started massage the soap into the fur. He looked hilarious, if full of rage. His fur was pressed even closer to his skin and it was drooping around him, floating just slightly in the way. The hilarity of it all was short lived when the feline quickly turned around to sink his claws into the skin of his arm.

"Argh!!"

Sam refrained from pulling his arm back like he wanted to, knowing it'd just make it worse. Eh, whatever. He'd heal and it'd just be a few marks on his skin anyway. Or that's what he'd tell Cody; his boyfriend quite frankly didn't need the ammo to humiliate him. He already had a closet full of that thank you very much. It took forever, but eventually the smell was gone and Ziggy's fur was remotely clean and he was now bundled in a towel to dry off. A small hiss left Sam upon inspected his battle wounds, hands and wrists pressed under the cold water to soothe the stinging. If he got the blood to stop flowing, he could easily just shove on a hoodie and Cody would be none the wis--

"Sam! You're taking forever, whats up!"

Sam glared at the confused face of his boyfriend when he opened the door, watching as his expression slowly changed to one of amusement.

"Sam, are you crying?"

"Shu' it!"
