The basilica empty, a bright light shining into it’s dark interior. The place was heavenly in its time. Huge spiraling wall’s, two story, knight statues guarding the place at the bottom by each opening in the wall. These led to room’s of the people that had lived here and artifact’s given to the deity. Apart of the roof was broken, a hole, light filtering through it. On the floor, broken bits of the church lay around, debri, bones of the dead. An arch lay in front of the door from a distance. It spiraled up, under it lay an objection, someone worthy to wield it. Above hung a large chandler. Light shone from behind the arch, a room behind it. Wires or rope went across the ceiling as bird’s of some sort flew around. They had now called this empty place home. This holy place that had been left to rot due to war.

Back in the day, the place was grand, many people had come to such a place to worship the deity who had lived here. Now it was broken and collecting dust. An eerie feeling of emptiness and death on the place. The deity still lived here, frozen in time. The war had drained her of her power. So into a deep sleep she went to recover. Need someone to wake her from her slumber, cast power and light onto a lucky individual that could save them. An Angelic choir would’ve been softly singing heavenly, harmonious songs as she would’ve granted gift’s to the worthy and wisdom to those who needed. She was the light in people’s lives. A ball of light would surround her as she floated down from the heavens.

From the entrance a Lywinn slowly entered, pushing a door open, it creaked. Someone from the underground had made it back up. His eyes looking at the remains of his people and their culture. It brought tears to his eyes. His crying softly echoed through the place as the feeling of loneliness washed over him. That eerie feeling wrapping around him, clawing at him. This place must’ve been a safe-place for Lywinn’s before they had to move underground. She had done her best to protect them. He hadn’t seen so many of his people dead in one place.

Amibian’s had tried taking over, war between the planet’s had started. What remained was broken structures and very few survivors that had sought protection underground. They won but with the cost of their planet turning into an apocalyptic wasteland. Their planet of immersive culture was no more. Only ruins, most of the structure’s still intact, gashes here and there. It had thousands of years since they had seen their planet. It was in ruins, like this cathedral.

His cries still echoed throughout the place. She heard his tear’s, it had been the first noise sense she had been put to sleep. She was finally awake, the room behind the arch slowly began to glow. The Lywinn noticing this, his wet eyes looking up at the light as it grew stronger. He had to squint, it hurt to look at it, he shielded the top of his eyes as he squinted. She floated out, large wing’s out in the open.

“Hello underling...” her voice was angelic, it  echoed, it was soft and sounded like a nurturing mother. His mouth gaped open in astonishment and beauty at her. He was at a loss for words, the tale’s were true.

Her soft voice echoed, “I’m afraid you the only one I’ve seen since I’ve woken up. You seek strength, light and guidance.”

He nodded and got off his knees. He slowly walked over to her, waking his way amongst the dead who had died to save this place and her. Words were not spoken but she knew what he would say.

“Do not be blinded by my light underling. I have a gift for you.” With her arm raised in the air light shone down on the sword. It glistened and shone in the light. The Underling felt a voice in his ear, whispering to him, Take it, take it, take it, take it, take the sword of the Lightbringer… let it grant you the will to fight for your people. Avenge the people that had fought for you and your planet. Take back what is yours.

He stood at the staircase up the arch. His eyes fixated on the sword Light still being casted onto it. It cast a glow onto the place. The voice’s still whispering in his ears as The Lightbringer floated before him. Her wing’s flapping now and again. His feet slowly went up the steps and stood before it. The light shining down on him.

“Take it, it’s your’s, I can sense the good in you.”

He reached out his arms, a chorus of voices starting to sing out of nowhere. It’s like he was in heaven, it was all such a dream, a dark dream. His fingers wrapping the hilt. She had closed her eyes in content and satisfaction. She would be set free. Her newest disciple. She wished she would have taught him but there was no time. Yenza, their home had to be rebuilt. Amibian’s had not claimed it yet and it was only a matter of time before they sent their force’s back to murder the rest of them.

He pulled the sword out slowly and raised it up in the air. A bright blind of light engulfed everyone. For a few seconds he was blinded by heavenly light. Wisdom and power rushing and absorbing into him. He was The Lightbringer’s chosen one. He was now clothed in holy armor and  The light dimmed down and her body was no longer there, he could still feel her presence in the air. The place felt more alive, the bones of the dead were still scattered across the floor but had been put to rest. Eeriness no longer tried to claw at him. The cathedral of the Lightbringer was still broken but it could be rebuilt in due time. He now had a purpose. To fight for his people.

“Don’t fail me underling. I have chosen you to defend this planet in my honor. Your planet, our planet. There are other chosen one’s out there. They will aide you. Find them, rebuild and fight for the next generations, and people. They need you. I believe in you my disciple,” Her presence faded from the building. She had merged her remaining bit of power with the sword. It had been the weapon she had used to fend them off. Now it was time for another one to have its power. He would bring forth justice.

Their planet had been using modern technology but the war took them back many centuries to the way of using old-fashioned weapon’s. That is why her sword had awaited him, gun’s and starcraft would take a bit to be rebuilt. For now they had to go old-schooled. Start from ground zero again and work themselves back up again.
