Chapter 1

- Free food, free food, - Tabitha was almost literally dancing between the brightly colored stands. Fruit, vegetables, chocolate, fresh bread - this town greatly lucked out on its harvest this year. Orange leaves, blue sky, pink flags, yellow bricks, all possible color combinations of delicious things, and even the festival guests were wearing all kinds of multicolored clothes, not to mention the hosts.

Shun was standing in the tree shade, watching his travel partner. She was smiling constantly, talking to people, stuffing herself and taking more and more with her, even being gifted a few treats on occasion - it didn't mean much because it was all free anyway, but it's the thought that counts.

Some passerbys recognized Shun and he met them with quiet nods, not moving anywhere.

- You really don't want to go around and pick something for yourself? There's still time to change your mind! - he still managed not to notice Tabitha approaching him, skipping with a hatful of food in her hands. Her unbridled joy made even the darker space under the tree look lighter. Or maybe it was her white attire - somehow still mostly white despite her not being very careful when eating.

Shun shook his head slightly, holding what food was spilling out of her hat with his telekinesis.

- Well, I'm already full, even though I wanted to eat some of this with you before sundown... but couldn't quite stop in time, - she chuckled with a guilty expression.

Shun looked at her for a few seconds before grabbing one of the buns out of the air and taking a bite.

- Look at you, feasting all alone, - Tabitha half-smiled again.

- I'm not alone.

He stared at her. She stared back, a question on her face - "did i hear that right?". People walking along the tree were starting to turn their heads to see if there's anything's going on.

After a few long, long seconds Tabitha started laughing.

- You're getting really bad at keeping up your 'mysterious loner' image.
