It was a muggy afternoon, the sun hanging lower in the sky gave way to a beautiful sunset.

“The highest part of the mountain is the best place to set up camp! We’ll be able to see the sunset from there.” Peach chirped happily, a heavy sack on her back that held their essentials. Camping was something that she enjoyed, and with Dead Sea by her side, she couldn’t be any happier.

“Alright,” Sea responded with a smile, she liked hiking which is why they chose to do what they were going to do. A night sleeping under the stars really does wonders on someone’s soul.

Despite how every little thing made Sea jump and go for her cricket bat, she knew she was safe at Peach’s side. Her big loveable girlfriend was someone she couldn’t believe she was even with. How had she managed upon such an angel?

After a little while of listening to crickets chirping, and birds squawking their last squawks of the day, they finally reached the area.

It was beautiful, a relatively large flat area whose view wasn’t obscured by trees. You could see the countless treetops and with it the slowly setting sun which painted the sky pinks, oranges, and purples.

Sea felt as though her breath had been taken away, she had seen the sunset before, but not in this manner. She felt almost… she felt as though she was going to cry out of amazement of the beauty of it all. These were the things that reminded her she wasn't in a wasteland anymore. The endless sky, the fresh air, and her loveable girlfriend who she woke up to in the morning.

“Want to help me set up the tent or do you want to watch the view?” Peach asked with a soft smile, noticing how Sea’s face seemed to soften and change with emotions.

“I can help,” Sea responded almost dazedly as she finally turned to look at her girlfriend, only to feel as though her breath was taken away for a second time. The setting sun’s light framed her beautifully, she looked as though she was a goddess sent from heaven.

Shaking her head, she trotted over to Peach and helped with the tent set up, and after a lot of cursing and anger they got the tent set up as stars sparkled across the sky.

“It’s beautiful up here,” Dead Sea spoke as she stared up at the stars, laying on Peach’s belly, her arms lightly wrapped around her as a barrier to the cool night's breeze.

“I used to come up here by myself and wonder where my soulmate was and if I’d ever find them. I have been searching for a long time and sometimes I felt as though it was never going to happen, but then I met you.” Peach spoke in an almost nostalgic way.

“Well, I’m glad you kept looking for me,” Sea responded back almost hesitantly, her face flushing a bright red as her heart beat a tad bit faster.

Then something wet hit her face.

Then again.

And again,

And again… until…

Peach and Sea let out little squeaks and surprised laughs as the two were drenched by the sky opening up on them despite how there were no… oh wait, they moved in fast.

Scrambling into the tent, the two soaking women laughed at the situation, wide smiles on their faces.

Sea looked up at her girlfriend with love in her eyes, this was nice. She felt whole.

“I love you.”

Peach smiled as her girlfriend spoke, before leaning down and pressing her nose against Sea’s.

“I love you too. Forever, and always.”
