All characters and scenes mentioned take place in the role play group New-Star-Warriors. Most of this won't make sense unless you are a part of that group. I really suggest joining! I love it!

This is a follow up to the previous writing, Hopping Along

It was the morning after the gathering in Fieldclan, the grassland shimmered with frost as Cardinalpaw and his mentor Rootwhisker, along with Poppyflower and Tulipshine, were going along the Hollowclan border for the morning patrol. The air was crisp and cold, the ground even more so, but it was doable after the heavy cold the whole clan had to endure from leaf-bare.

The bicolored tom's pawsteps were light as he and Rootwhisker padded side by side, the two mollies just behind them. His yellow eyes gazed over to a fallen tree on the border. He thought about how much his life had improved since he left the darkness of the forest.

Rootwhisker had been an amazing mentor, he was calm and patient, he was a cat Cardinalpaw could truly trust. He was much more willing to help and understand than Lizardleap ever was, and he never gave up on him. Thanks to his insightful techniques, he was finally able to hunt once again! He was accepted into the clan as a full member, and it was all thanks to him.

Then there was the clan in general; aside from a few unwelcoming stares, it was a major improvement from his last. His clanmates were friendly and open to cooperation, he never had to worry about being attacked by them, it was so much easier to relax now.

Then there was Honeybounce, his best friend to whom he could never grow bored of. The molly had boundless energy and was endless fun to be around. Nectarnose might not be fond of their friendship, but he would prove that he had nothing to fear. He wasn't a Hollowclan cat any more, and he never would be again. Fieldclan was where he belonged.

"Cardinalpaw!"

The red tom jumped and shook his head, looking to the tom who called him.

The brown tom chuckled, seeing the tom finally react to his calls, "I could have sworn you told me it was your right ear that you couldn't hear from," his whiskers twitched in amusement, "What're you thinking about?"

He relaxed, his cheeks were sore as he had been absentmindedly grinning while he thought. The she-cats behind them were still chattering. He smiled once again, "Nothing much".
