All characters and scenes mentioned take place in the role play group New-Star-Warriors. Most of this won't make sense unless you are a part of that group. I really suggest joining! I love it!

Big pawsteps entered the Fieldclan camp, accompanied by the dangling bodies of fresh kill from the orange calico's maw. With leaf-bare approaching, finding pray was important and he did not want to lose anymore clanmates. The clearing still lingered with the faint smell of fear, anger, blood, and grief.

As Wildwind made his way to the fresh-kill pile to leave his contribution, his eyes searched around the camp. Nothing had changed, the grass was the same, the dens were the same; and yet every thing felt different, not exactly bad, just different. It was like he was looking at the camp for the first time, I guess grief does that to you.

He dropped his prey onto the pile and looked over to the Leader's den, his heart heavy. This was normally the time he would bring her a rabbit to share while going over the day's report, but ever since the night of the gathering the deputy felt that Fernstar wouldn't want to spend time like that together anymore. He looked over to the warriors den, him and Dustfeather hadn't spoken since then either. Wildwind had become snappy towards anyone that was close to him, and sadly the small warrior fell victim to that treatment; and now to make matters worse Dustfeather's brother, Rabittuft, died during battle trying to save Brightbelly's kits.

His orange gaze returned to Fernstar's den, how he longed to go in there and share a meal with her again, for every thing to be how it used to be. But it couldn't, and he couldn't either. He sighed, picking up a rabbit he had caught, and strode over to the Leader's den. As he entered, he made sure to keep quiet as to not wake up Fernstar; he noticed that Sunpool was gone, perhaps she went out collecting herbs. He looked over Fernstar as he approached, she looked so peaceful now, something that seemed to be a rare occurrence in her waking hours. He stood there for a moment, his heart urging him to tap her awake. His paw moved over her, but he pulled himself together and put it back down, placing the rabbit down in front of her nest, before leaving the den to avoid any actions that could have negative consequences. He's done enough of that.

Wildwind then turned to the warrior's den where Dustfeather lie, grieving. His eyes floated over to the fresh-kill pile, he remembered how he nearly starved himself after losing Firescar, he didn't want Dustfeather to suffer the same way he did.

He picked out a mouse on his way to the warriors den, upon entering he found it to only be inhabited by Dustfeather, Dapplecloud, who lie awake next to him, and Yellowtail who slept on the other side of the den. His presence alerted Dapplecloud, whose head popped up upon his arrival followed with a glare.

The Fieldclan deputy ignored her glare and quietly approached his friend, only to be interrupted when the molly got up and blocked his path.

Wildwind dropped the mouse to speak, "I'm just trying to bring him something to eat".

"Just go, I'll bring it to him". Her stare was piercing and fiery.

The tom held her gaze for a moment, thinking of how he could get through to her, but knowing the molly's past that would be impossible. He sighed and turned around, heading out of the den, back to hunting for him.

He was pulled to a stop when he heard her speak again: "You really shouldn't have been so selfish you know, Fernstar had everything under control until you came in and ruined everything". He grinded his teeth as she continued, "I bet Hollowclan would have never attacked had you not shown so much weakness, Rabbittuft would probably still be alive too. I don't know why Fernstar ever chose you to be deputy, I guess you're just another one in her list of mistakes". With that she turned around, picked up the mouse, and went back to the sleeping Dustfeather.

Wildwind swallowed his thick spit and left the den, his head and tail hanging low. He had similar thoughts like that, sure, but hearing it from a clanmate was painful. He wiped some gathering tears from his eyes before leaving camp, back to hunting.
