It was definitely their first time participating in something so absolutley massive as this. Anik had proposed the idea of them joining in on the halloween festivities, and Korbin had been most certainly interested. Halloween was a fun tradition, he imagined it would be even more fun alongside Russell, and their tokotas.

His chosen companion for the festivities was a mischievous short maned female named Ashot. She was barely a yearling, and full of more energy than your average handler could handle, but she seemed to be at her worst when around her brothers. It was like she and Yar had a bond over driving Nimble insane.

"Are you excited for the costume contest?" He asked his companion curiously, looking to Russell as he brushed the tokota's fluffy mane, trying to make her look presentable before putting her costume on. It was easier to handle this way he thought.

This was absolutely such a big deal! Although from what he’d heard Alaina had decided to sit this one out, keeping to herself for the most part over the last few months, Russell couldn’t help but to be excited to enter the festivities! Even better was to be able to join into them with their tokotas, to spend this time with the beasts that were such good creatures in the long run.

Nimble moved easily, shaking his tawny merle fur before he glanced over in the direction of the young redhead. He was young too, and this was his first Tokoween as well… he didn’t know what to think of all the actions! He didn’t mind the human’s hands at all and he glanced over to the shadowmarked male Hanzo, head tilted to the side as the other sphinx watched them.

Hanzo wasn’t actually joining in on things, but he’d decided to tag along and no one had been able to actually chase him off as of yet. He didn’t mind Nimble too much in the long run, and two were better than one if Ashot decided to start being a problem.

“Yeah, I’m pretty excited! What about ya?” The redhead glanced over to his companion, head tilted slightly to the side as he gently pulled down Nimble’s head to pluck out a few pieces of grass and even a rogue leaf from where some tree sap stuck them to him, making certain to get the sticky spot clean. “S’gonna be good to get out.”

Korbin was a holidays kind of guy, it was important to him! Fun was absolutely vital.

As Nimble moved, Ashot would wuffle at him. The noise grew steadily louder, until she was practically yodeling at her brother, howling and warbling. She had to pester him, IT WAS FUNNY. So funny, in fact, she didn't notice the living mop that followed after Hanzo. The yeti moved quietly, aiming to flop his whole massive weight onto the sphinx, to pin him under him and rest atop him.

Korbin laughed at the antics, and turned to Russell. "Incredibly so." He grinned. "I can't wait, the fall air here is so nice, and the costumes!" Those would be fun.

=====[Cantbreakthis]=====

Russ was definitely down with holidays and fun things. The more fun the better for him… but that was perhaps expected. He was still young after all, still knew how to enjoy life despite what might’ve happened to him before.

… but he didn’t think about that much anymore anyway.

Oh gods. Almost immediately Nimble stopped shock still and stared down his sister, ears pinned back unhappily. No no no no he did not want ANY part of this in the long run, not when she was behaving in such a manner. Hanzo shot her an utterly disapproving look as well, clearly displeased, and it was thanks to her racket that he was mostly unaware of the mop that had tailed him until it was too late.

When McCree flopped over on him there was an undignified squawk from Hanzo, the sphinx wriggling a bit to try to escape. When that failed he felt Nimble’s eyes on him and shot him a glare until he looked away, offering little grumbles as he tried to figure out how to get him off of him.

It was all pretty funny, and the young redhead was laughing over it too. “The candy’s good too. Are ya gonna go trick or treatin’ too when it’s time?” He sought to tug over the bag with the things he needed to gear Nimble up in his outfit, trying to get the merle sphinx’s attention back.

=====[Mehen]=====

As always Russell loved fun. He was a man who seemed to live for pleasure, in any form. Fun, happiness, other things. It was all good, and Korbin liked indulging him. It helped the guy recover and well....he loved him. Anything to make him happy.

Ashot would keep it up for some time before wandering away from her brushing to lick her brother's face. She wuffled at him, tail wagging excitedly and likely smacking him with it. Korbin chuckled, moving to gently drag her back away so he could finish. She resisted, but finally relented.

McCree wiggled more on him, practically burying the sphinx in fluff. Clearly he thought he was cold, and needed to be warm! He would affectionately lick the bald toko, and wag his tail, kicking up some clumps of fur from the floor.

"I think I might, I hope nobody thinks I'm too old for it!" He laughed, moving over beside Russell to get Ashot's gear, before moving to kiss his lover's cheek with a smile. "This is going to be a good night."

=====[Cantbreakthis]=====

Fun was a good thing. An enjoyable thing. It made what could be seen as an otherwise bleak enough life something so much more… better, after all. Korbin probably didn’t help matters for the most part, but considering they were having a good time there was nothing wrong with that!

Russ deserved to heal.

If anything Nimble’s sister was trying excessively on his patience. The merle sphinx’s ears were pinned back, and he offered the redhead a look that basically said ‘how could you?’ towards him. He flinched at each bat of her tail, and visibly sighed happily when her handler finally dragged her away. Thank the gods.

Meanwhile poor Hanzo was making good impression of a sphinx pancake. There were obviously still oh so clearly unhappy noises from beneath the mop of a tokota, and finally he managed to pop at least his muzzle out so he was able to breathe.

Nimble and Hanzo were both hilarious and Russell couldn’t stop his bemused chuckle from it if he tried. “Pffft. You’re nevah too old for fun!” A pause, even as he dug through the gear he had. Hmmm what to use first… “Much less nevah too old for Halloween either. Everyone’s gotta chance to celebrate!”

=====[Mehen]=====

Fun was important, definitely important. Korbin, as a doctor, believed that happiness and comfort did wonders for healing, physical and emotional. Things were good here, it was giving Russell the contentment needed to move on from his trauma.

He absolutely deserved healing.

Ashot knew, she damn well knew. The merle sphinx was someone she adored, and in her mind that meant she had to annoy the goddamn shit out of him, because how else was he supposed to know she loved him? HOW ELSE?

Their antics were hilarious though, and Korbin hoped that Nimble never came to aggressive behaviour towards her.

McCree wuffled contently, licking the top of Hanzo's head and letting out a soft 'boof' to him. He was comfortable! Also obviously he still needed the warmth of his fluff to keep his naked butt from getting cold.

"You have a point." He smiled. "I'm starting to think that the fluffier a tokota gets, the more likely they are to have more energy than they know what to do with." As with every rule, exceptions existed, but he'd only seen a few.

=====[Cantbreakthis]=====

Given that Russ was about as far from a doctor as one could plausibly get he would leave such things to Korbin! Thankfully in this case the older man was certainly right – everything had done so much in healing the young redhead, and he had grown calmer in these lands then he had back home. Hanzo, Nimble, the other tokotas… they had helped too!

Of course she knew. It was the job of siblings to terrorize their brothers and sisters and she was no exception to that rule. Nimble had a decent amount of patience and even when he lost it he didn’t outright attack her. He had snapped at her a few times, sure, but never with any real intent to harm.

Hanzo, on the other hand, looked only increasingly unhappy from where he was pinned. This was so very undignified after all! Nimble might be amused by his predicament but for the moment he ignored the merle sphinx, trying to wriggle his way out from under the mop of fur.

Russell still couldn’t help but to be amused by both of the sphinxes, Hanzo in particular. The shadowmarked male needed to learn some tolerance perhaps… but it was obvious the yeti adored him dearly.

“I dunno.” A pause. “Ya remember War Boy? He was pretty hyper and he ain’t got much fur at all.” Another. “Heard Alaina recently got his dad and that he’s no better.” A laugh there, before he started affixing pieces of the costume to a patiently waiting Nimble… who kept shooting his sister suspicious looks.

=====[Mehen]=====

Tokotas were helping Russell heal, and Korbin was glad they'd be returning home with plenty in tow. It would likely help the man keep healing, and stay happy as they worked. The big bear dogs certainly had a lot of good in their fluffy (and sometimes not so fluffy) bodies. Surely Lucian and Vadim would come to love them too, right?

Ashot took her sibling duty absolutely seriously, and so she was going to annoy him and ANNOY HIM GOOD. He was going to have so much affection he wouldn't even know how to handle it. Not like he already wasn't. He'd never properly bitten her before, and honestly she could bite him back if he did.

It would hurt them both!

As much as Hanzo tried, McCree simply wiggled with him, before finally he wiggled just a bit too much. With a loud wail he fell off the sphinx, flopping over on his side. He whined, wiggling a bit where he lay, but it was obvious he wasn't hurt, just being dramatic.

Hanzo would probably come to get used to it, eventually.

"I do." He laughed. "I can imagine, he must get it from his father." A pause. "Riggs is pretty goofy when Nux is around actually." Not that he got many chances for that because Alaina didn't want them together much. He moved to put Ashot's costume on, having to wiggle a bit with her to get pieces on. "Interesting costumes for these two..." It looked almost like tactical gear.

=====[Cantbreakthis]=====

Russell had never had any pets before Marky, and while he missed the squirrel dearly he’d found new friends here. Even people friends too – although he questioned from time to time if Alaina saw him as a friend in return – and while he missed the others dearly he hoped they would one day come here to visit and see this life for themselves.

On the other hand Nimble wasn’t nearly so thrilled when it came to the chaos his siblings caused. For whatever reason the gods had decided the merle sphinx had to get saddled with those two. Gods help him. He’d been tempted to seriously bite her but had never been actually pushed that far – unlike Hanzo, who’d certainly had when she’d tried to get uppity with him. He had far less tolerance.

Poor Hanzo was still trying to escape, but it seemed as if he wasn’t destined for that today. His ears flicked back a bit as he growled at McCree, the glower certainly something genuine, and the noises brought Nimble’s attention back over briefly to the duo. And then like that he was finally free, moving to get to his feet and shake off all the dirt he’d befriended while pinned beneath a red mop of a yeti.

“He probably does. Like father like son, huh?” A laugh there. “I heard she was pretty happy t’get him though – she was covetin’ him for a long time.” They all probably did that, didn’t they? There were a few he himself had an eye on.

Either way he continued to gear up Nimble, who stood there patiently, while keeping a vague eye on Hanzo so he didn’t wander off too far. “Mmhm.” Agreement there, another piece snapped on. “Post-apocalyptic tokotas? Soldier tokotas?”

=====[Mehen]=====

Russell did well with Marky, and he did well with the tokotas. It was good, that he could have these experiences.  He figured that in time he could get them a home, with enough space for all the tokotas. They could live together happily with wonderful animals, and the people they loved.

That would be fine.

At the very least, it was only Ashot here. Yar was ever so much more the trouble maker, and he would be eager to raise even more hell. As fun as Nimble was to bug, Hanzo was pretty fun too. He reacted to things angrily, and with the two of them it was easy to push his buttons.

Wasn't as fun as Nimble in the end tho.

McCree whined to Hanzo, looking almost pathetically at him. He just wanted to cuddle! It wasn't his fault that he had a lot of dirt in his fur, it basically attracted the stuff. Whoops.

"Indeed!" He agreed. "He's gotta be a handsome sphinx, I'm sure it was good for her to get him." He figured the woman deserved happiness too, she seemed like she needed it.

"I'm not quite sure what they are...it looks good on them but it's unusual." Korbin shrugged. "I hope the judges like it though." He added the finishing touches to Ashot, and looked over to his partner. "You ready to head out?"

=====[Cantbreakthis]=====

It was good that the young redhead took to animals so well. If he didn’t like them this would have probably, almost certainly, not have lasted so very long. They would’ve been back at base. Their tokos belong to someone else. Hell that was hard to think about – he didn’t want to imagine life without Nimble, Hanzo, and all the others.

The two of them together was definitely double trouble and then some. Both Nimble and Hanzo could only tolerate them to varying degrees… the merle perhaps better at it given the fact they were in fact his siblings. Hanzo, on the other hand, was by far much more prone to biting them.

And if the shadowmarked male bit them he dang well meant it.

Speaking of Hanzo he seemed happy to be out from under the yeti, ears still pinned back and occasionally glancing over to him. He didn’t hate the other male by far, but he wasn’t an unglorified pillow to squish.

Either way he headed over to Nimble, moving to sniff and inspect the gear that the other sphinx was now wearing. “Looks pretty snazzy on ‘em, I’d say.” They looked ready to go and survive everything.

“Yeah, let’s do this!” They were more than ready.

=====[Mehen]=====

If Russell didn't like animals much, he wouldn't have even lasted with Korbin very long. The man absolutely adored any creature he came across after all. Animals were one of his favorite things.

He couldn't imagine being without animals in his life though, and now he couldn't imagine being without tokotas. He hoped their lovers could come to like them too.

The siblings were fun, a ridiculous trio. Of course the yeti and the sphinx he got attached to were fun too, that was definitely true. He loved the critters, all of them. Their antics were charming, and he did his best to keep them out of harm's way.  McCree wuffled again, moving to lick the sphinx's face with a bark. He loved him! Hanzo was special to him and he wanted to be with him.

"It goes look good." He agreed, admiring the costumes. "Let's go!" He would lead on, guiding Ashot, and whistling for McCree to follow. The doctor would lead them to the awaiting trailer, so they could be driven to the contest grounds. He would hand Russell the matching costume that went with the tokotas, and before heading off he dressed himself in his.

The trip would be short, and when they arrived he would unload everyone. The arena looked good, with the decorations all adding to the atmosphere. It was perfect really. He could smell apples cooking, and hot chocolate somewhere, and hear the sounds of the excited spectators. "Ready?" If Russell agreed, he would move to lead them out into the ring, ready to enter the competition.
