Little Detective

He was being shown ‘evidence’ of a plot by this little child. He had let her snoop, and this is what he got. He… looked at the statues closely.

“You seem to be right, my father’s statues, all torn and ruined. Must be a menacing plot against the royal dragon throne.” He turned to look at the little cookie, Walnut. “I didn’t have a clue. How did you figure this out?”

Walnut had been watching the scary dragon prince examine her main bit of evidence, “Oh! There’s this bit here, that you just saw, Sir! But there’s also messed up paintings, angry notes scattered on the floors in the attic areas, an-”

He knelt in front of the child, “The attic?”

She fidgeted, “Yeah, lots of scary evidence up there.”

“You must’ve been very determined to make sure I knew about this plot if you went up there. I thank you kindly, detective.” He smiled softly to the little detective cookie. She had found… all of his work. From when he was young and… allowed to be angry.

“So, what do I owe you for practically saving my life?”

“Payment? I’m not done yet!” She squeaked, someone was taking her seriously! “I still have to check some rooms and try to figure out who it was, and maybe see if that fiend Roguefort will show up. You’ve got plenty of treasure and gems.”

“Oh? The thief?” his wings twitch and tense, “Oh then you must try and catch them. If you need anything, just tell me.”

“Yes, my eternal foe…” she holds her magnifying glass dramatically, “I will catch them!”

“I have faith that you will. But how about you take a small break and we go get a snack?” He stood up, and lowered his hand, offering it to the child.

She actually took his hand, holding it and she pulled, “I found the kitchen in my investigations! I know the way! Follow me!”

He did, letting his tail sway a little bit as he was pulled along.
