The midday sun felt warm on Kiran’s skin as she laid on a rock near Luke Skywalker as he waited for a ship to arrive. “Master Luke, who are you waiting for?” Kiran asked in a bored tone of voice.

“I am waiting for a family member of mine,” He answered, looking over to the young ten-year-old girl. “You know you don’t need to need to stay here, you have my permission to go off own. All I ask is you are back before curfew.” Luke said as he refocused on the landing yard.

“I know, but this is more interesting than hiding out in the library.” She remarked. Kiran still just sat by his side, also watching the landing yard. The clearing in the middle of the forest had made a perfects landing area for ships. There were a couple of other clearings like this around the academy. But the grass here had basically died from years of ships lading on it.  Kiran was quickly snapped out of her daydreaming by the loud sound of a ship landing. It was a lot older and more significant than any of the other ships that had come. The old ship made a deafening thud as it landed, the ship powered off. The ship’s ramp lowered, a family of three walked down the ramp, and Luke started to head toward the group to greet them. Kiran finally deiced to move from her rock and followed a distant to meet the family. It was the first time all day Kiran had come to great a family with Luke. Kiran focuses on the family’s son since she assumed he would be training here, he was an inch or two taller than her. She not sure if she should trust him since the other kids where older than her. Then she felt Luke look at her as if to tell her to come to stand by his side.

“Yes? Master Luke,” She questioned as she stood by his side.

“Kiran, this is my family I was waiting for, Han and Leia Solo,” The luke gestured to there son. “And this is their son, Ben.” Ben stuck out his hand for her to shake it, Kiran just stood there unsure of what to do. “Kiran, you are fine; he just wants to shake your hand.” Luke then seems to start to talk more with Ben’s parents. Kiran loosens up some, realizing Ben was no someone she should be scared.

“Oh, okay,” Kiran then reached to shake his hand. “I am Kiran, Kiran Hunt.” She smiled at the grabbed his hand and started to shake harder than an average person would. Ben was a little taken aback by Kiran’s seemly lack of understanding of social cues.

“Uhm, the name is Ben…Ben Solo.” He started slowly. Ben put his hands in pockets; his eyes darted to the ground. He could feel his mother’s eyes on them Leia gave a small smile at the two kids.

“Do you want to go and play? I can also show you around!” Kiran had a big smile on her face. There was something about Ben that made Kiran trust him. Kiran started to tug on Luke’s robe, “Master Luke, can I a Ben go and play?”

He looked at the two, then back at Han and Leia. Leia nodded her head as if you say yes. “You can go and play. Just don’t go off to far.”

“Oh thank you so much! Come on Ben lets go.” Kiran grabbed his hand, pulled him along with her. Ben quickly picked up the pace and matched her speed as she ran to the courtyard of the Jedi temple. They had made it to the courtyard. There was not to may other people around. Ben only now got a good look at Kiran, her tiny body seemed to littered with scares the. Two nasty scares laid near her neck and one right across her face. “So what do you want to do? I really never had another kid to play with since they are always training, or they are much older than me.” She said Kiran looked genuinely happy to have someone else.

Ben was a little caught off guarded when Kiran implied she didn’t have force. “You don’t have the force?” She shook her head, no. “Then, why are you here?”

“Master Luke took me in after I had stunk on his during a food run for my street group. He said it would be better for me to live here than on the street.” Ben stood baffled at her statement. He had never met anyone who lives on the street. There was a very award pause between the two? “Do you want to play Jedi and Sith?” She asked, picking up a couple of sticks from the to use as lightsabers.

“Sure, who do you play.”

“All you do is use these sticks, and the first one that has a stick knocked out there hands lose.” Kiran jumped in a battle stance read for his attack

“Okay, sounds like fun.”

Ben got into a fighting stance that matched hers. Kiran got an evil grin knowing she had a leg up since he and Luke played this game a lot. But she also knew that her chances of winning where slim since Ben had the force on his side, but that made more determined to win. The two kids ran at each other, with the smack of the two sticks the game was on. Neither side was going to give in easily, Kiran quickly moved back in the mid clash in order try and slip up Ben. Ben stumbled some before regaining his balance. He got the idea to use the force to get the stick out of her hands with only lead to dragging Kiran and the stick towards himself. He saw her fight, and she was not going to go down without a fight. They two, when at it for what have must be over thirty minutes when Luke, Leia, and Han arrived to see the two play fighting. The three adults had not expected to see the two kids going at it both where seating and giving there all.

“What scared Jedi! You can’t defeat me. I am the best lightsaber the dark side has very had!” Krian spoke jokingly

“Oh really, because I am the best Jedi ever!” Ben said. The two laughed at there game of parented they had to go on. There was something about the two that made a smile, was that Ben seemed to have a friend, or was there something else.

“For a street kid she going” had commented

“This behavior is unusual for her. She usually only follows me around in silent.” Luke spoke the two as Ben seems to start to get the upper hand in the fight.

“They kind of reminded me of us, Han.” Leia said. Ben Seem wins, and Kiran seemed to demand a rematch.

“I can see that.” The two where now jokingly calling each other names and being two rambunctious ten-year-olds having a good old time. “Ben come over here, me, and your mother is going to be leaving soon, Son!” Han yelled over to the kids, followed Ben as he ran to his parents.

Ben said his goodbyes to his parents, Leia walked over Kiran she got down to her level. “Keep an eye on Ben and make sure he stays out of trouble while we are gone will you do that for me.”

“Yes mama, I will!” Kiran held her head high when given this takes. “I promise with my life to do so!” Leia could only smile at little Kiran’s enthusiasm.

“I bet you will.” Han said as he overheard the conversation.
