Sweet Tooth stood by the edge of the skating rink and watched the people gather. She had never skated before, but the ice looked inviting. She was bundled up in her winter clothes. Shoes always were a bit of a problem having paws. She usually settled for wrapping her feet in warm hide and tying it with string. She put one paw on the ice with her foot, testing it. It seemed solid enough. She stepped with both her feet on the ice, then picked up one foot, and pulled out a jar of ointment. She rubbed it on her left foot, muttering magic words quietly, then her right foot. Once she was done she did a louder chant, and underneath her feet ice fractured and swirled forming into blades made of ice that attached to her makeshift shoes. She was momentarily pleased, then realized she had to balance-her tail snapped straight behind her to act as a counterweight and she extended her arms a bit. Carefully she tried to slide forward, and it worked. She moved cautiously over the frozen rink, smiling wide.
