Rising sun iridescent Illuminates my descent From a starless sky up above Come I to herald the dawn Stay no longer with silent mourning Daybreak makes way for a new morning I keep vigil not out of grief but love For from the desert dunes was I reborn

Let’s take a ride together, you and I Upon the warm winds we shall drift and glide

Not sandy wastes, but waves of stormy seas Such shifting sands of time will never cease Wind beneath my wings I do embrace What’s lost I’ll find as I navigate Patterns that once again arose Such desert blooms - my compass rose Swirling, whirling, full of grace Endless rippling small and great

To what mysteries do us these ripples guide? I do not know, but surely we can try

Eternally repeating are these glyphs Scribbles for us to glimpse carved into cliffs Do not we all wonder what they mean In our lives and their own give and take But I, I knew in a heartbeat Rippling each time my wings did beat Written here our fate is seen Destiny is ours to make

If you come with me together we shall fly Above patterned sands and below glassy skies.

Author's Notes

tis i, matcha, wickedly awesome wordsmith, petrifyingly good poet, the punmaster

Yes! Finally! I can achieve my dream of having a huge to-do list again QaQ I'm happy to be able to do something...for some reason writing feels like a monumental effort in the beginning but then it snowballs and I can't stop but it feels great, kek. Many thanks to the wonderful ThoseWhoWentMissing ARPG for being super open and friendly yet really providing a good challenge! Gotta flex those writing muscles!!

This poem features the most gorgeous esk whom I absolutely adore, Leohtbaere! (Sorry if I butchered the name, I can't get the accented letters to work *le sob*) Upon their travels Leo happened upon a desert and became fascinated with the wavy patterns of the sand, and perhaps learned something important along the way... They belong to Cyniquill who has SUPER cute designs for everything, including my latest sad little esk Uhuu~ This one was really tricky, but I hope you enjoy the hidden surprises tucked away within the poem!
