Snow
Small white snow flurries were fluttering down from the sky, dancing along the wind as it picked up only to bite against the flesh of anyone who dare got in it's way. Only the harsh hiss of wind could be heard as it slapped against buildings, people and anything else that stood in it's way. Sapporo was always cold, in fact it was one of the coldest places on the planet. That fact alone would cause a few people to shudder about even going there but it was here that the renown Yuga dance Academy was stationed. This alone would have made Yuukito Minamoto feel quite at home, however, now that it was the Winter months the raven haired male couldn't be more happier.
Yuga Academy...
The wind picked up as the raven haired student could be seen standing under a dormant tree; a cigarette holder was resting gently against his finger tips as he held it out while having his icy gaze looking upwards towards the gray sky. The snow was drifting down elegantly, sticking to whatever it touched – including Yuukito but that didn't seem to bother the male. Even as the wind grew harsher and his cigarette nearly going out he continued to stand there motionless for a few minutes before finally lowering his gaze to look at his surroundings. Yuukito loved the snow, how it just suffocated the life under it while it settled onto the ground; how the colours were muted and how everything seemed so...lifeless.
Although.
Yuukito actually missed his mansion back at his actual home; the maids and the amount of help that he actually had around his house. Although he was surprised to find out that a part-time maid, one of his favourites was actually working here as an instructor, Katsumi Stepanov. Adjusting to the dorm life was taking a toll on him, for one he had to actually share a room with someone. That blonde Russian, Viktor Mikhailov; who could be a bit loud at times but it wasn't as though he could exactly complain. At least the Russian proved to be a bit entertaining during that whole ordeal with the 'blind date' that they have been set on – well, that is before the incident happened. There really was no point in thinking about that night.
それは過去のことです。
(That is in the past.)
The raven haired male shifted, moving his body so he could sit down under the dormant tree so he could lean his back up against the firm trunk. Although sitting here would normally not be a good idea, as he could hear the creaking of the branches above him as the snow grew heavier and heavier upon the bare bark. Yuukito couldn't care less, slowly he brought his cigarette holder up to his lips and took in a slow drag. The feeling of the nicotine on his tongue and the smoke filling his lungs always seemed to calm the other down, blowing the smoke out to the side he looked back up at the darkening clouds – looks like a storm was about to hit soon.
“Minamoto.”
Hm? The raven haired male's concentration was suddenly broken by the prick of someone's voice entering his ears – a voice that sounded all too familiar to him. However, Yuukito doubted his hearing for a moment as he slowly lowered his gaze from the sky towards the sound of the voice. Taiyoko? That cold gaze of his rested upon a short male with piercing eyes leering in his direction. Strands of blonde hair was sticking out from under his hat – at a quick glance he saw that the blonde was completely dressed in dark clothing.
“Why are you here, Minamoto?”
Ah, the blonde before him was speaking in a low dialect that nearly made him sound as though he was exhausted from working. Arakawa, Kozue – that was the one before him and one of the infamous Arakawa twins.. but not the one that Yuukito would have liked to see before him at that particular moment. An inward sigh floated into his mind as he took a long drag of his cigarette stick, those cold eyes of his locking directly onto the blonde's. The flurries of the snow was growing thicker as the seconds ticked on by; clinging to the blonde's cap and eyelashes - “Answer me, Minamoto!” a snarl came from Kozue after he had made his statement; clearly growing impatient.
“Patience Kokuten...”
A deep chuckle came from Yuukito as he watched Kozue's face twist up in anger over the old pet name that he had given the more serious Arakawa twin years ago. “Do NOT call me that, Minamoto!” the blonde growled, his upper lip curling to show his teeth as he began to grind them together. Yuu's eyes trailed down towards Kozue's fist which was resting on the side of his leg – they were clinched but Kozue himself didn't bother closing the distance between them, despite the fact that he clearly wanted to punch him at the moment. Heh, even though Yuukito hadn't done anything to deserve a punch – not yet – he couldn't help but feel a bit of glee with knowing that Kozue wouldn't, or rather couldn't, hit him on Yuga's grounds.
“Cut the crap and just tell me why--”
“-isn't the snow beautiful?”
“Huh?” Yuukito had stopped Kozue's words mid sentence with an comment on his own; slowly he stood up from his spot, having the snow that had gathered up on him to fall off with ease. The scent of cigarette smoke and ice floated around him before he set a lazy gaze towards the blonde who was still quite tense, despite his confusion. “Isn't it wonderful – how the snow can just snuff out the colour of the world and make everything dull and muted...” a low chuckle escaped from Yuukito's lips as he started to walk towards the much shorter blonde. The other couldn't help but remember exactly what happened during their last encounter which caused his smile to fade considerably.
“... snow just covers up the colours, it doesn't 'snuff them out', Minamoto...it just makes everything look blue and white.-- I am not here to talk to you about snow!”
The blonde was growing irritated as he shifted on his feet, clearly standing his ground while he shot Yuukito the fiercest look that he could manage. That look made Yuukito's finger tips twitch with a sudden desire to grab the shorter male by the throat and throw him up against the side of a building to get his point across – ah but that wasn't allowed. He had to learn to express his emotions better, although that was never a concept that really clicked within his mind. 「 そんなこと知ってる」 (“I know that”) the taller male stopped right before the blonde as he peered down at him, his long strands of hair falling over his face like a curtain.
「 あなたは同じ顔をしているのは面倒です...」
(“It is troublesome for you to have the same face...”)
As Yuukito spoke he lifted his left hand up towards Kozue's face; the back of his fingers barely brushing up against a few of the blonde locks that were sticking out from under the cap. 「 しない私に触れる。」 (“Do not touch me.”) The blonde spoke quickly as he smacked away Yuukito's offending hand, his bright eyes narrowing further as he leered up at the raven haired male. The dull stinging sensation on his hand caused Yuukito to chuckle darkly as he closed his eyes, his hand returning back to it's place. My, how easy it would be to just put this barking mutt in his place – if only he could.
“Why. Are. You-”
“- I am not here chasing after the sun.”
Yuukito leaned forward, his raven locks brushing up against Kozue's shoulder while a few strands lightly touched his exposed neck. “After all... Icarus flew too close to it – I rather not get burned...but it is a bonus” a whisper that was barely audible escaped from Yuukito's lips before he titled his head and chuckled right next to Kozue's ear. Yuukito could hear the blonde nearly hold his breath from him being so close – heh this was rather amusing. 「 彼の結婚式を覚えていますか?」 (“Do you remember his wedding ceremony?”) he spoke, his voice going deeper than usual as his lips curled upward in a cruel grin.
“Tch!”
With a click of his tongue the blonde went to swing a punch towards Yuukito's face – however, the taller male was much quicker in taking a step away. “I take that as a yes...” Yuukito let out a low laugh which echoed within Kozue's ears. However, before Kozue had a chance to take a second swing the raven haired male started to walk away from the other – heading back towards the Yuga dorms. Kozue turned to shoot a harsh look at the other; taking note that his question was actually ignored. If he wasn't here for 'the sun' then why the hell was he here for. “Minamoto-” Kozue spat out the name as though it left a bad taste in his mouth. Yuukito, on the other hand, just merely raised up his right hand into the air as a gesture of saying 'goodbye'.
“I really do enjoy the snow fall...Sapporro is a lovely place. Not even the sunlight could melt this snow entirely...”
