Cleo was born into a very well off family

Had a tough time in highschool, she had a hard time understanding a lot of material

she did excel in drama and public speaking, but she was never the academic type. 

The only reason she didn’t just barely scrape by (or fail) is because she was so personable. She became friends with all of her teachers, and when she was close to failing they bumped her marks up a few notches. 

Cleo was a frequent volunteer throughout highschool, as well. She was a part of every fundraiser, special event.. if you can name it, she was there. 

She was also on the track team.. and jogs to this day! 

She was elected student body president for her senior year. 

Cleo didn’t go to college. At first she said she was taking a gap year to figure out what she really wants to do, but she’s just been avoiding it. 

She currently works at a little coffee shop downtown, but she’s been through countless jobs since she graduated high school. She’s worked in hospitals, retirement homes, grocery stores, offices, call centres.. Having wealthy parents has given her the freedom to do whatever she wants, so quitting or getting fired never means too much to her. 

She met matcha while she was working at a hardware store. They went to the same high school, so they kinda recognized each other, but they were basically strangers. 

They didn’t take kindly to each other at first, Matcha stank like cigarettes and oil, and Cleo was kinda rude (wasn’t very fond of this particular job) but they made up few days later when Cleo cashed her out at a gas station late at night. There was some banter about how Cleo seems to work everywhere, some flirting.. it didn’t take them very long to become friends. A few nights and a bottle of gin and they were friends with benefits, and it didn’t take very long (or very much effort) for Cleo to talk Matcha into going steady with her. 

Cleo isn’t very picky when it comes to music. She just likes “whatever sounds good”. 

Cleo’s parents were both smokers when she was growing up so she’s used to the gross cigarette stink matcha has, but she still does everything she can to stop matcha from smoking. She gives her shit constantly, she hides her lighters, she keeps trying to replace her cigs with other things to help her kick the addiction (sunflower seeds, gum, vape pens)

She kinda likes the way matcha smells (coffee, tea, fresh laundry, faintly of cigarettes), though she wouldn’t admit it. She thinks saying so would encourage her to try and maintain the cigarette smoke part of her aroma.
