Bad Feedback

The heaving whatever bluh I'm just trying to get some words down. Blah blah blah it's all just smut who cares.

Tevvyr shut his word processor window with a groan. He was getting nowhere with this current project he was working on. Perhaps it was time to take a break and give himself a reward. He opened his email, and a grin jumped onto his lips. A new comment! Just the sort of thing he needed to renew his inspiration! He clicked on the email, scanned the comment, and then slammed his laptop shut.

"Overwritten- the nerve!"

Tevvyr stormed from his office and into the library in search of Varis. He would understand his indignation. Tev found Varis lounging on one of the couches, his pet cockroach, Crunch, sitting peacefully on his shoulder.

"Varis!" Tev said, bustling over to the couch and muscling Varis's legs out of the way so he could sit down. "Varis, you'll never believe the comment someone left on my fic!"

Varis blinked at Tev, looking up from his book. "Come again?"

"My fic! The latest chapter, with that scene I was really proud of? The one that truly captured the height of human emotions?"

"Uh-huh?"

"I got the most dreadful comment on it! Someone had the nerve to call it 'overwritten garbage' with 'purple prose' and 'no point in existing.' Can you believe that!!"

Varis looked at Tev, carefully considering how to say what he wanted to say. He knew how Tev wrote- like a harlequin romance novel, with all the overblown descriptions and melodrama and throbbing members to match. It wasn't bad persay, but he could see where someone might really... not... like that. "I wouldn't say your stuff has no point in existing. You always have really good ideas and bring such great insight into what you write!"

Tev looked pleased at that for a moment, but then sighed. "I know that I can be a bit... wordy sometimes, but I think it's well worth it. After all, what would you rather have- some crass, short lived writing about some guy getting a dick rammed up his ass, or a slow, loving description of two men joining in the most intimate way possible as their shafts quiver and-" Tev caught sight of Varis suppressing a giggle, and kicked him across the couch. "Oh, shove it! I know I sound silly, but I like it!"

"Then what does it matter what other people think?"

Tev sighed. "I guess you're right. I'll just have to get back to work and prove them all wrong!" He hopped up off the couch and pounded a fist into the air. "I'm going to make this next pwp I'm working on even more obnoxiously verbose, just to spite them!"
