Evelyn and Vincent first met when she came in to get a tattoo to celebrate graduating high school and mark the start of her first big trip—backpacking across Europe! He immediately thought she was adorable, though he tried not to show it because that’s just… awkward. Those are the kind of feelings you squash at the parlour. But he was happy to help her decide what design to get, and listen to her ramble excitedly during the whole process! She was so excited about the whole situation (and a tad nervous) that she barely thought to ask him any questions—a fact she realized with horror at the end of the appointment. She apologized profusely for her insensitivity and rambling, to which Vincent simply laughed and shook his head, insisting that his life was so boring and listening to her was much more exciting and interesting! Which made her blush a tiny bit, little just-out-of-highschool baby as she was. She never forgot that stranger who was so sweet and helpful, not to mention cute… but never thought to see him again.

After a year or two of great adventure all over Europe, Evie returned to America a changed cat—much more mature and brave and addicted to travel than ever! She was also much better at talking to people. Her tattoo had worn off by then, of course, but somehow Vincent recognized her nonetheless. After much internal arguing, he dragged himself over to say hi and ask about her trip… just to be polite. He was sort of procrastinating returning to his lonely apartment, anyway. Well, they talked for hours, and he was amazed to hear all about her trip. And of course, she insisted on making up for her mistake last time they had seen each other, and interrogated him as well! They ended up spending the rest of the day together, sharing lunch and a drink and taking a walk as they talked. The two quickly became fast friends, which was an answer to a prayer for Evie, who was worried about not knowing anyone after being gone for so long. She had decided to move to the city after a visit to her family, so she saw lots more of Vincent after that.

She loves bringing out the sweeter side in him, or those rare moments when she can catch him as a confident, happy artist.
