Out on the border to RiverClan, Sunshadow is on a border patrol. It was rather quiet until a stranger showed up and the patrol had to decide what to do.
Prologue - Before The Patrol
The day prior the first cats who were infected with rabies in ShadowClan have reached the mad-dog phase, attacking their own Clan mates.
The leader Honeystar was at the time away in ThunderClan territory together with Sunshadow. There Drowsystar wanted to warn them about the illness, though when they came back it was already too late. The three infected cats where dead, on of them killing one of their Clan mates as well.
One of the infected wasn't in camp while the mad-dog phase reached them though, he was at the RiverClan border and was found there dead, with the fur of a strange cat between his claws.
Wanting to send the message of the dead cats to ThunderClan, Honeystar sent Sunshadow together with Firecloud again to the ThunderClan camp. Everything went well, until the exhaustion of the day caught up with Sunshadow, who hasn't had something to drink or to eat since the time he had made his way over to ThunderClan the first time.
When night was slowly creeping over the sky, Sunshadow collapsed while running and had to be cared for by Firecloud until Duskwhisper, the deputy, had found them. The two warriors brought the still unconscious tom then to the medicine den, letting him sleep and giving him something to drink and eat.
