‘Maple Wood Park’ read the sign that sat outside the parking lot. Tim closed the door to his car as he turned on his flashlight. It was only around ten a clock at night; the sky was clear, revealing a beautiful starry night sky.  Tim huffed as he walked to the hiking trails, which lead into the woods that surrounded the small town of Middle brooks.  The sound of cicadas filled the night air as he walked the hiking trails on the lookout for a lost kid.  The amber alert had gone out three weeks ago, and the search for the missing preteen was still ongoing, but many people were losing hope.  He had been unable to sleep the past couple nights wondering where could she had gone off to, and as much as he hates to admit it, he missed her surprise visits to his house and the stupid talks they would have.

“Casey, you better be okay,” Tim whispered to himself.  As he made the track to the deeper part of the forest, he became less filmer with the path he took.  Tim remembered that Casey had dragged him to a small abandoned hospital that wasn’t far off the trail once or twice.  Tim paused as he looked for something that would point him to the path Casey had shone before.  Then he saw it a poorly carved marking in a tree; it resembled Casey’s birthmark.  The path that he now followed was overgrown, and it hardly resembled a road anymore, but the broken branches showed that someone had been in this area before.  Tim finally found this way to the old hospital that Casey found so fastening.  Tim jaw dropped when he saw where he was; it was a place he hadn’t been to since Marble Hornets. It was his old hospital, a place he vowed that he would never come back too, and yet there he was.

An ear pricing screaming filled the air, then the sound of footsteps came from behind him. Tim saw her Casey; she ran past him in the right in to, she didn’t seem even to realize he was standing there. Tim followed, not sure why she seemed so frightened. As soon as he stepped into the hospital, he regretted following her, the feeling of being watched feel over Tim.  Tim did his best to shake the feeling and look for Casey; he walked down the old halls.  Old Memories flood back to Tim as he made it deeper in hospital.  Walked into a room with words, ‘He is a Liar’ where written on the wall, Tim back out of the room.  Someone grabbed him and threw him to the floor; the stranger looked down at Tim.  Tim rolled overseeing this attacker, a man in a yellow hoodie with a led pipe in his right hand.  He was unable to make out the face of his attacker since it was too dark. Tim slowly tried to pull himself up from the ground.  But the man kicked him in the side, causing Tim to fall once again. A loud crash at the end of the hallway caught the attention of Tim’s attacker. Garbing a piece of pipe that fallen for the ceiling, Tim hit the back of the knee of man in the yellow hoodie, who dropped the ground.  Giving him enough time to get away from the man, Tim ran to where the crash was heard in hopes of finding Casey.  Tim rounded the corner; walking down the hall, there was no sign of life. Then something slammed into the side of him, pushing him into one of the empty rooms.  Tim looked down to see Casey was the one who had shoved into the room.  The twelve-year-old female looked up to Tim a smiled, excited some to see the person she saw as a father figure had come to find her.

“Casey, where have you be-“ He was cut off every quickly as Casey coved his mouth.  She put her finger to her mouth and then removed her hand.  “where have you been, your family is worried sick about you.” Tim spoke in a whisper.

Casey looked down before she spoke. “I have not to clue I been running around trying to escape whatever been chasing me.” Her voice was quiet and horse, like she had been yelling for long periods. “But I do still have a GoPro on.  When I woke up, I saw I was wearing it, and it gives some information about where I have been.”

“where did you even get that.”

“I think it belongs to the people who are chasing me. I woke up, and I had it on.” A crash was heard from down the hall, followed by whispers.

“We will continue this talk later.”  Tim moved to the doorway, with the metal pipe in hand.  At the end of the hall, time could see two people talking, one he guessed was the man who attacked him, and the other looked to be some sort of kid. He ducked back into the room as he heard on people at the end of the hall start running.  Looking around, he saw a window on the back wall; it would be easy for him to get to.  But there was no way Casey would be able to reach it.

“Clear!” an unfamiliar voice yelled.

“Same with this room!” another voice yelled back.

Tim saw Casey; she looked terrified.  He picked her and placed Casey on his shoulders.  “Clime out the window,” Tim told Casey. The two voices were getting closer and closer. “Hurry up, I will follow you,” Tim spoke with urgency. Casey slipped out the window and hit the ground with a thud.

“I am good,” Casey said.  Tim followed, he pulled himself up into the window.

“Hey, I think I found them, Hoddie!” a voice yelled. The man in the yellow hoddie appeared in the doorway next to the young boy.  Then Tim heard a gunshot; he fell out of the window.   Casey ran over to him; she asked him if he was hurt.

“No I am good, I think it missed let's get going before they find us.” He picked himself up and followed Casey.  They could hear yelling behind them. The two of them ran until they came to the trial Tim was on earlier.  Casey fell to the ground in a coughing fit. He was only now to get a good look at the preteen. She had bags under her eyes and looked skinny as if she hadn’t eaten in a while.  He looked around to see if anyone ways around before, searching her jacket for any of her medicine.  He pulled out a pill bottle was only half a pill left. It seems that she had been rashening her meds. He handed her the last half of her medicine she took it.

“Ok, kiddo, let's get going. I hope they aren’t following us.” Tim picked up Casey, placing her in his back. Tim made the walk back to it his car, Casey held on him as he walked her back to the car.

“Tim, I am sorry,” Casey said, his voice still weak.

“You're fine kiddo, now let's get you home.”

“Ok,” Casey said. Tim finally got back to his car and placed her passenger seat before driving off.
