The Spring Carnival is in full swing! The rides are there for our enjoyment, the food stalls are bursting with extravagant smells and tastes and all the games are playable. The Queen herself asked me to bring you all this article all about said carnival, and I take that very seriously. When the carnival first arrived, I was one of the first beans on the premise. When I first got there, everything was still being set up. As I was walking around, admiring the set-up process, I tripped on a spare rope – the kinds used for the tents – and I fell flat on my face. When I looked up I was surrounded by a cart load of caffufles! All shapes and sizes, I was confused until I saw Kit. I was surprised to see a friendly face in the carnival and I told her as much.

“WELL OF COURSE! All the games and booths are run by the beans of Griffa!” She said, which was news to me!

Kit then proceeded to show me around so I could see all the games, booths, rides and food carts and I can now say, with confidence that I am an expert of all the going-ons at the carnival! The Spring Carnival, however, has never been here before and therefore holds a certain mysteriousness about it, even to experts like myself… like some of the beans walking around, have you seen Madam Kitty? Mysterious and a little scary, truth be told, but I’ve been told not to fret and that lurking is normal for her. I wonder if she can really tell the future? Shrub told me she could and that she has predicted his life accurately to this day, but I’m not sure I believe him. He was frying sticks. but the carnival is exciting none the less!

Everyone is busy collecting tickets like mad to play all the games and redeem so many prizes! I cannot believe the amount of activity there has been in Griffa these past few weeks, it’s astounding! And all the greenery! You’d think that since there’s a carnival in town things might get a bit messy, but nope!  Since you can earn tickets cleaning up and helping things grow it’s been a riot of cleanliness. I’m pretty sure that I saw Agnes grown a beanstalk so tall it could rival the one from the human story Jack and the Beanstalk.

I’m super nervous about some of the rides though. Clemmy’s Cart Riot looks very intimidating and unsafe… Clemmy said that it’s perfectly fine but I heard from Connie that there have been tons of clean ups she’s had to do for that ride. She didn’t specify but what if it’s blood!? All those poor sprouts hurting themselves rolling down the hill on that contraption of a cart! And then they run into things and hurt themselves and Clemmy doesn’t want to have anyone find out so she enlisted the help of Connie to help her hid the mess. What if that was their plan all along? No. They wouldn’t. Right? Regardless, that is most definitely not the ride for me. Maybe for more of a dare devil reader.

The photo booth looks friendly enough! Bob and Duett have some ridiculous cardboard cut outs and scenes, some of which include movie favourites like Aladdin and The Lion King, romantic scenes and birds. I heard that one of them was of a proposal. Bob an Duett must be the cutest couple in Griffa, hands down. When they get married I wonder if they’ll have cut-outs at their wedding? Better yet, if they’ll let me cover it! I would do it such justice, every moment, every detail all down in writing. Who better than me? As you can see I’m already doing a wonderful job at taking down the carnival is writing.

Remember fellow griffians that there is also a scavenger hunt going on throughout the carnival. I myself got a chance to witness the finding of one of the treasure bean prizes. There I was, minding my own business when I saw two beans running at an astoundingly fast speed. Upon closer inspection, I saw that It was Gruff and Telo. Curious, I followed them. When I saw where – and what – they were running towards I’m sad to say that I took off after them as well. Who wouldn’t want a treasure bean? Sadly, I didn’t make it on time. Telo managed to get his paws on it before Gruff or I had the chance to grab it. I was later told that Gruff managed to procure one at a later date. This carnival sure brings out people’s competitive nature.

All the note taking for this article made me hungry so I had to stop and eat, since Pickle’s booth was nearby when I had this epiphany I made my way over there. Pickle’s booth – in case you were wondering – is deep fried pickles, which are amazing, by the way. I heard she’ll deep fry anything you give her, Dude said she would deep fry anything he made as well (I’ve yet to try so I can’t yet confirm). So, there I was, waiting in line for a glorious pickle when some commotion at the front of the line had me startled. Dill had jumped down off the roof and began devouring some pour bean’s pickle. I knew I had to step in, I ran to the front of the line and wrestled Dill off his poor victim, but he was growing at a rapid rate and I couldn’t manage to control him. He ran off but not before eating all the pickles in the fryer and becoming as large as a house. Pickles, throughout this whole ordeal kept her cool.

“He’ll come back once he’s shrunk back down to normal size again.” She said, and then proceeded to reimburse everyone whose pickles met their untimely end in Dill’s belly.

After that ordeal, I took some time to sit down with my pickle and take in the surroundings. I could see griffians of all shapes, ages and sizes, playing and overall just enjoying the carnival for what seemed like miles around me. When I closed my eyes, I could hear the laughter surrounding me (and only a couple screams from Clemmey’s direction) smell the food stalls and feel the open air across my face. I saw Shrub frying sticks, Lucky drawing in her sketchbook, a plethora of companions goofing about and everyone just enjoying themselves all around. And I thought to myself how fortunate everyone here in Griffa is that the Spring Carnival stopped by.
