Somewhat of a sequel to my last literature, Fate of The Stars (which I recommend you read first so it's not all confusing) This one was also made for a freewrite assignment and there isn't really anything else I can say that wasn't stated in the first blurb so enjoy and have a wonderful day!

Taking one last climb over the long and winding road, Jojo gazed his purple eyes over the town he’d hadn’t seen in years. And well, it wasn’t much different from when he’d last saw it. Creatures walked between the buildings now and then and.. he’d almost say it looked even better than it last had, cursed by that drought.

However, he stayed where he was as he watched it for a few minutes, sitting himself down. Despite how far he’d been from this place, he wasn’t exhausted at all after the journey here. The same journey that had taken him decades since he was a child.. having only taken him a few hours with his new abilities. Since, well.. it seemed like ever since he’d shaken Artifact’s hand, them dying in the process, a new power had surged through him. He felt stronger, more vigorous, able to fly and run at speeds he would’ve never originally thought were possible. Was this what it was like being Artifact, or rather.. when they were younger?

Jojo closed his eyes, thinking for a moment. That creature had to have been as old as a millennium at least. Perhaps that was why they’d referred to him as a ‘young one’.. Old when it came to his kind, sure, but beings like Artifact most likely lived for much, much longer.

And as he opened his eyes again, Jojo glanced back over towards the town. Part of him was almost tempted to go over there and greet them after all the years he’d been away but at the same time.. would they even remember him? He’d been the only child in the town when he’d last been there, and most of the ones that even knew him were probably dead. Besides, even if they were still alive he doubted they’d recognize him now. Not only was he an adult but also, as he glanced at his wings, his body soon began to grow a dark black. He was a lot larger than before and stars started to dot his fur as well.. The whole look causing him to look almost just like Artifact yet younger and more vibrant.

And though it was a somewhat unfortunate feeling that he wouldn’t be able to join in with them, it was still nice to take one last look at the place he’d been born. There was only one thing left to do now..

And soon, Jojo stood up, spreading out his large wings on both sides of him. He’d already gotten accustomed to the new form, so it didn’t take that long for him to begin taking flight, his feathered wings beating against the still air. It felt so long since he’d last taken flight in his original form, usually not having enough energy to be able to do any more than a slow walk most of the time. But now, he was able to flap his wings with ease, starting to rise himself higher and higher in the air as he lifted his eyes towards the stars above. This was it. He was going to go up there and make things right.

And eventually, his wings carrying himself into the air, Jojo disappeared into the deep, dark cosmos.. dawn starting to rise above the town not long after.
