It was difficult taking care of Madiline. She refused to eat, or drink. She would sit by the window and simply stare out until she fell asleep.

Which was worse. Whenever Madiline had a dream, she would wake up and look for Virus, only to be heartbroken all over again.

If it was a nightmare, she would wake up and cry out his name, shivering and sobbing until she had no energy left.

The dreams were no better than the nightmares, as both left her in an equal amount of pain.

Alix had decided that she would, oh so gently, try to remove her memories of Virus. Or, at least, lessen them.

She had prepared herself for the task. Once she opened the door to Madiline's room, however, she found it empty.

Madiline had run away. She didn't know where she was going, she just knew she had to run.

Once she finally did slow down, she had fallen to her knees in a clearing under the sun. Panting and looking towards the sky, she whimpered.

"Why do you always find me, Father?" she cried out to the sky, pain burning through her body as he touched a hand to her head.

It only took her a moment to realize, and she started to sob, begging, "Please don't take my memories of him, they're all I have left. I promise I'll be loyal to you, please don't take them... I'll do whatever you ask me, I swear to you on both wings! Please... please let me keep my memories... I don't want to forget..." she paused, a scream ripping from her chest as she realized.

She can't remember his name anymore. All that is left in her mind is his face.

She had forgotten.
