SandWings Week Two Story

Strikeout examined his team's flag and grinned. It was a lovely green and the threads shimmered in the light. After rubbing his eyes a few times to make sure he wasn't dreaming, Strikeout waved the flag in the air. His grin spread even wider, and as he danced around with it peals of laughter escaped him.

He pranced around in his new uniform and only stopped when he realized he was in public. He shuffled his feet embarrassedly. His confidence wasn't dimmed though, and he simply smiled at the dragons staring at him.

Strikeout sauntered away, the flag over his shoulder; it was billowing out behind him.

As he made his way around, his pride got the best of him again and he twirled around with it.

He waved at the people going by and offered high fives, too.

Feeling ever confident, Strikeout called out, "Team SandWing! Let's go, Team SandWing!"

Some people scoffed at him but he didn't care.

"Strikeout!" He heard his name being called behind him. It was Bug, the MudWing representative. She waved at him and he walked over.

"Hi Bug." Strikeout smiled at her and put his hand up, indicating a high five. She followed through and grinned.

Bug noticed that he was alone just as he noticed the flag over her shoulder.

"Nice flag," he began, just as Bug said, "You're alone?" Strikeout coughed and motioned at her to continue, but told him, "Go ahead."

He nodded and replied, "I really like your flag." He pointed at the soft-toned banner, a MudWing decoration the front.

"Thanks," Bug replied, "but you're alone...?" He nodded yes. Bug stuck her flag in the air and Strikeout did the same. "Why not change that?"

They spent the rest of the afternoon joyfully yelling their slogans into the air and into the confused faces of passerbys. Don't worry, they didn't hurt anyone. At least, I hope so.
