You Like Girls

Aster looks at Dareah for a good long time in wide-eyed surprise. 

"do you have a problem with that?"

"what? No! It's just-"

"I thought it was obvious."

"not to me! I don't watch you look at people!" Aster stumbles, flustered. Dariah chuckles lightly watching her brother in a confused and flustered mess. "so... H... How did you find out? You know... That you liked girls?" Aster seemed genuinely curious. Dariah laughs at him.

"when did you find out that you liked girls?" Aster chuckled at that.

"I asked first, but okay. Well, I guess I found out while touring the kingdom with mom. A lot of cute girls on the island."

"You said it." Dariah laughed. "though... I don't think they'd like me like that." Aster sighs and put an arm around his sister's shoulders.

"maybe? You never know. Homosexuality isn't that rare." Dariah shrugs, finding her brother comforting. "what about kids? Do you want them?"

"I think so? But I'm not interested in getting pregnant." She waves in dismissal. "if my partner wants to, I'll be supportive, and if not, maybe we'll adopt?" she shrugs again, "but that won't be for a while still." Aster nods.

"Gemini wants to wait too. I mean, she's excited to be a mother, but she doesn't feel ready." Dariah nods.

"it's a big step. It's a life changer. And you already threw her entire life into a whirl, being a prince, asking a humble common girl to marry him. It's more than she possibly imagined." she smiles. "but you did good, you picked a good girl. She's sweet, kind, and genuine. I'm sure the rest of the island will find her to be an approachable Queen, like mom. And you," she chuckles, "you're probably the most approachable king in history." Aster smiles.
