Sun spots sat in front of his garden, his odd claw-like hands placed on his fluffy knees to keep balance. Today was a perfect day, at least in Sun spots's opinion. There was more than enough wind to fly a kite, and clouds muffled the morning bird's shrieking. Some leaves outside the perimeter of his little cottage crunched and Sun spots ears flipped up. "I wonder if they like pumpkin pie", he wondered aloud as the newcomer came into sight. Saturn approached on all fours, his ears and hair blowing slowly as a zephyr trickled them. His wings were slightly unfolded. Saturn took slow steps, the wet dew ticking his rough paw pads. The canine Spaceling stared at the creature in the distance, making him raise an eyebrow. Saturn shook his head and started to trot closer. Who's that?" Sun spots looked at the odd creature and chuckled, it looked more curious than hostile by a longshot. He collapsed from his odd seed-tending crouch to a more relaxed and comfortable position. His dark brown claws shifted through the soil and pulled out a healthy(ew) looking orange root. After a moment of thought he tossed the vegetable in front of the visitor. Saturn picked up the most root in his mouth but he didnt bite done. He only ate meat, and didn't want to waste good food. Saturn walked up to the stranger and bent over, then dropped the fresh orange root. "This is yours, correct?" Saturn asked, licked his muzzle to remove the dirt. Sun spots jumped, 'oh, its sentient', "U-uhm yes i assume so... its not really mine though, i just helped it a little bit-", He continued to mumble about being nice to plants until, "Oh, i'm sorry, i got side-tracked huh?" Sun spots quickly stood up and bowed, extending a dark clawed paw. Then like he was shifting between dreams quickly snapped up and started walking towards the advanced hut. "Sorry, old habits- well something of the sort-" He continued to mutter about something he forgot or misplaced the whole way there. Saturn twitched his left ear and say down. "What's your name?" He asked under his cold breath. Saturn flexed his wings a few times. "Where are you from," he added with coldness in his tone. Sun spots choked on the carrot he had decided to snack on. "CoUgh- f-f-from?? U-uhm just a town not the far from here, i came here for..." He looked around, eyes darting wildly. "More space for crops. You know those cucumbers and pumpkins can be quite big." He sighed and shook his head, "As for my name, its.." He tilted his head, as if trying to figure out the answer to a jigsaw puzzle. "I think.. I think its Sun spots. An odd name for sure. As for why he would name me that ive no clue." He glanced back and realized the obvious question. "O-oh, my father of course. Who else would you receive a name from?" The odd pair reached the door way. "Come inside, have some tea. Meanwhile why dont you tell me about yourself? Ive already shared quite alot for a stranger." Saturn stood up on his hind legs, his body easily changing to look anthro. He gave a grateful nod and stumbled inside. Saturn rubbed the dark bags under his eyes and yawned. His tail slowly drug on the ground behind him, leaving a petite trail in the dirt. Small rain drops started to fall as Sun spots and Saturn walked inside. Sun spots mood immediately lifted seeing the rain. He practically squealed, "Oh my, its raining! I knew it would be a perfect day! I wish i could smell it. Sadly i don't have nostrils. I think a grape vine told me once that it smelled like iron! Though i don't know what iron smells like either. Come to think of it, grape vines don't have nostrils if i remember correctly?" He laughed sadly, "I may be young but a lot of things are jumbled up in here. Days have been worse let me tell you that." He sighed, lifting a nice kettle onto an odd misshapen stove. "So traveler, what brings you to our humble planet?" He leaned over backward to give Saturn a knowing wink. Saturn forced a small smile, but it soon dissapeared. "Rain doesn't smell like iron.. more like something cold," he described. "I'm a spaceling, from a planet called Nixtorm," Saturn said as he sat down at the wooden table. The rain sounded like popcorn popping as it hit the roof, sometimes thunder would sound in the near distance. When Sun spots heard the first roar of thunder all the fur on his body stuck up straight and his crooked mouth rose up into the most innocent and youthful smile anyone had seen on him for ages. He whispered "A storm!" with way too much enthusiasm. Still smiling ear to ear he turned around in that odd backwards way again, "Oh, lavender or chamomile?" Saturn seemed to hunker down when the thunder collapsed. He flattened his ears and narrowed his eyes. He hated thunder, for some reason it scared him. Brought back bad memories related to PTSD. "O-oh lavender, please," Saturn stuttered as be pulled on his tail. "Lavender it is!" Sun spots paused and noticed Saturn shaking. He shifted over to a corner of junk and scrap metal and pulled out a coral pink umbrella. "The roof is pretty patchy, you might need this." He handed the umbrella to the odd canine and went back to tend to the tea. But he whispers under his breath, barely audible, "Its kind of like a shield too. You can be safe in your own little world." You notice that the reddish pink umbrella is the only object in the room that didn't have any holes or scratches. Saturn handed the umbrella back, "no worries, I can create this forcefield like idea," he said. Saturn eased his eyes shut and concentrated his energy. A small almost clear bubble formed around him. He turned feral, again to fit in the bubble. He hovered slightly above the ground in it and the rain bounced off. Sun spots lifted the quietly whistling tea kettle off of the stove, after serving up tea in some chipped cups he places the umbrella against the small table in the center of the room. He smiled at Saturn contently. Thanks to Saturn he seems to have remembered something. Saturn accepted the tea and it floated in the clear bubble he was in. It easily passed through the walls of his bubble. He used some sort of telekenisis to tme sips of the warm lavender tea. "This is good," he complimented. Why is he warming up to a stranger? He finished the tea quickly and stretched his wings with a yawn, the walls of the bubble stretching with his wings. "That's a fancy trick you've got there." Sun spots said in-between sips. "Just be careful, its still hot." A heavy storm beating down outside, a steaming cup of tea and someone to share it with, "I think its been a few years since i did something like this"
