ch. 1

The small fire fox lingered at the edge of the forest, the cool breeze tempting her closer. There was a very small stretch of dry grassland that made the border between the two lands in which the temperature and atmosphere started to change. Foxy sniffed the lush undergrowth, curious about the many plants. Her parents had forbidden her to go anywhere but the desert, as it was apparently dangerous. However, curiosity had gotten the best of her, leading to this exact moment.
ivy she was going towards the border as she always wondered what the desert was like as she sighed. She knew better what her parents had told her as it upsetting that cant go to the other side as she looked around leting the scents come around her as she was unsure at the sight ahead of her.
The rustling of grass startled Foxy, and she flinched in response. "Who's there?" She barked, not thinking wisely. Pokemon here were split up based on what environment they lived in, and war was always on everyone's mind. Not to mention she was just a little Fennekin, and not capable of fighting off someone much bigger or older.
Ivy she tensed up when she slowly came out of hiding as the snivy was scared as she looked at the Fennekin she wasnt sure what to do. As she titled her head as she didnt say anything because of her quiet nature she had that made her from speaking as she gulped quietly before saying in a quiet. Like tone "w-who are u?" she asked shyly.
"Who are you?" She shot back, arching her spine. Tiny sparks of fire began to dance around her ears, showing that she was afraid. Foxy hadn't expected to meet someone here! "What are you doing so close to the border, huh?!"
"you are to! and my names ivy" Ivy said as her voice grow low as she shifted in a fighting pose ready to use vine wrap if the other pokemon was ready to attack "and the reason im here because i always wanted to see the desert!"she added her eyes narrowed a little her voice cracking in the tone she was rising slightly.
"Well, too bad. You're a dumb forest dweller. My mama says that you're all weak, and you're lucky we give you mercy." Her voice was taunting in an attempt to appear stronger. "There's not much to see but sand and hills. Nothing special, and nothing you need to be seeing."
Ivy she gulped as she says "you dont know that!" her voice was going completely low and small. Before she shaken her head as she was ready to retreat back into the forest but she spoked"have you ever meet an grass types huh"she added keeping herself from snapping with anger.
"No, but I know that you burn!" Foxy produced a small ember, spitting it out onto the grass. It burned momentarily and flickered out, leaving a small charred circle.
Ivy she squicked when she was picked up as she looked up to see her mother picking her up as she lowered her head in shame as she didnt struggle out of her grasp.
Foxy cowered in the presence of the large Serperior, her fire fading out. "H-hello." She said in a wavering voice. "I was just uh... playing! Didn't mean no harm, haha..."
Maple she glared at foxy as she was holding Ivy "why are u so close to the forest and Ivy you should know better your brother lark was getting worried for u" Ivy whimpered as she said "Im sorry mama"she looked up at the serperior with disappointment but she understood from these.
"It doesn't matter. I was just looking." Foxy said, trying to sound innocent. "I was gonna leave when she showed up, I swear!"
Maple she didnt believe that as she didnt say anything and ready to slither away with Ivy back to their home. As Ivy sighed she wished her mother wasnt that pushy with since she was the only girl born out of her siblings at the moment into the other egg hatchs.
Foxy had turned to leave, only to whip back around again. She just had to follow! Maybe she could find out some information against the forest tribes! The grass smoothed down by Maple made a clear path, and she followed. Her mostly yellow pelt contrasted harshly against the undergrowth, and she tried to compensate by sneaking among ferns and bushes.
When maple gotten back to their home she sat Ivy down sighing "where did your brothers go off now"she murmured as she looked around the place Lark the servine he appeared out the growth that was hold an home hes eyes lighten up when he seen Ivy "thank arceus Ivy you are okay!" Ivy she shifted a little looking down at these.
Birch raced out from a hole in the ground, one that he had dug to connect to their underground home. "What dumb thing did you get yourself caught up in this time? You're always wandering off!" He scolded, as if he was a parent himself. Foxy peered in from a nearby fern patch, struggling to contain her laughter.

Maple she shaken her head as she said "I found ur sister here was near the deserts border" Ivy she lowered herself down embarrassed and scared. Lark he sighed as he heard their mother saying "you know well you cant go off like that Ivy! what if you get hurt" he looked down at the snivy.
"There are lots of fire Pokemon there." Birch added. "They're all mean, and they'll burn you up in an instant! Don't you remember what father taught us?" Foxy felt offended. That was so untrue!
"i do remember"Ivy said quietly her voice was scared of getting hurt. Maple she slithered around the 3 as she lowered her head as she sighed"i cant lose you ivy neither does ur father or ur siblings." Lark he breathed "we cant lose u little sis you are not ready to fight or defend yourself" he nudged ivy softly.
Birch nodded. "We can't have you getting burned, either. Fire Pokemon don't hesitate." Foxy had finally had enough. "Oh, shut up!" She barked from the ferns. "Fire Pokemon are plenty nice! Who told you we were mean!"
Ivy yelped as she hide behide her two brothers as she was shaking. Lark he narrowed his eyes where he heard the fennekin "our father that is why are u doing in the forest tribes area". Maple she fixed herself up as she seen foxy as she made a hissing sound.
"Why are you spreading lies?! At least you could tell that to our faces! You Grass Pokemon are true cowards!" Foxy spat back, her anger flaming. She spit fire at Maple, trying to defend herself from the large Pokemon. Hopefully her embers could do something.
Maple she used vines to pick up foxy as she narrowed her eyes as she had to bring foxy back to the desert where she belonged "its a way to keep our kids safe away from you"she snap and cold. Ivy she was cling to both brich and lark as she was to scared to move. Lark he sighed as he was gonna turn to rub ivys back.
Foxy squirmed in Maple's grasp, unable to free herself of the thick vines. "You can't stop us! We'll burn your dumb forest!" She barked, quoting her mother's rants. "I'll cone back!"
"try"Maple said sternly as she sat down foxy back into the desert before going back to the others as she didnt care from these as she made sure to keep an eye on her kids.
Foxy watched Maple go, and ultimately decided to just go home for the night. Hopefully her older sister was in a good mood. She walked across the scorching sand with an annoyed look, her ears glowing with heat. A small, familiar hole in the ground came up, and she slipped under ground. The main area of her home was quiet and empty. "Mom? Dad? Javelina"
Javenlina she poked her head out when she heard foxy she looked she was tired as she said "your safe i been trying to tell our parents you'll be fine and they where starting to worry" Meanwhile with maple she was there with the 3 siblings as she sighed annoyed with the 2 boys as Ivy cling onto her father cause of what her brothers where during.
"Good. I met some Snivy and her rude family near the border. Grass Pokemon are cowards. They talk smack, and they can't even do it to our faces!" (side note Javenlia is a braxien)
"im guessing ivy huh i think i heard from our parents that shes the only young snivy thats there in the tribe" Javenlina said as she walked over as she was careful with her tail"and you know our parents wouldnt be happy if they found out where you went"she added.
"They don't need to know. Don't tell them, okay? It was just a little misadventure. I really don't want to back anyways." Foxy pleaded. Javelina had a habit of telling on her or blackmailing Foxy to do her deeds. She could only pray that her sister would comply. For now, anyways.
"well its to late they are coming in anyways" Javenlina said as she ducked away so she can get some rest and she was grinning quietly as she went to lay down. Aden he stopped when he seen foxy as he spoked "there you are"hes voice anger and well stern.
Foxy cringed at her father's voice, knowing she was screwed. "Hi, papa." She said, trying to sound causal. "I was just out hunting for some bugs. They're real tasty, don't you think?"
Aden he narrowed his eyes where narrowed as he didnt believe it as he eyed over to Amber "dont act like that i know by your scent you went towards the forest tribes area"he was anger at foxy and he was showing it
"Yes papa." Foxy said in a defeated, sullen tone. She went through the dirt hallways, crawling into the hole that led into her room. Her room was smaller than the rest of her family's, as she was just a little fox. It was convenient, too, because she could sneak out without her parents knowing.
-that night-
Ivy she was wondering around as she wasnt able to get some sleep as she breathed as she tried to catch her foot as she closed her eyes as she was enjoying the breeze and night time as she sat down as she looked at the sky as she smiled.
Foxy had wormed her way out of her room, finally done with her digging. She was determined to return to the forest and spy on that family. Hopefully she didn't run into any patrols. In fact, she was lucky to not have run into any desert or forest patrols when she was snooping around earlier today. Nights in the desert were vastly different compared to the day; cold, bitter winds whipped against her fur, giving her the chills. The little Fennekin weaved her way around the dry desert vegetation, travelling in the direction of the border.
Ivy she was thinking as the snivy was enjoying the forest as she eyed around the place hoping. Birch didnt follow her as she went to go eat some berrys as she closed her eyes a little as she listened around the place as she sighed as she didnt know what to say or do as she lowered her head thinking.
After what seemed like forever, Foxy finally hit the stretch of grass, relieved to feel steadily solidifying ground beneath her paws. There didn't seem to be any patrols; good. Without hesitation, she dashed into the forest, bursting through the thick vegetation. Silver moonlight dappled the leaves and plants, creating a beautiful scene. The forest was... beautiful. Desert hills paled in comparison to the scene before Foxy.
Ivy yelped when she when she heard birch as she whinched as she covered her mouth she knew she was gonna be in so much trouble if she knew her parents found out she was out during the night. As she lowered her head as she went to go try and hide as leaf like tail lowered as she was careful.
Birch looked around, squinting in the darkness. He had heard movement, but there was no Ivy in sight. "Ugh. Whatever, she'll learn her lesson sooner or later." He raised his voice. "Lark, come on! We're going home!" Foxy's ears twitched at the sound of distant yelling, and curiosity took over once more, leading her towards the source. Her paws scuttled silently over the messy forest floor, barely shifting leaves. Admittedly, the forest was also terrifying. The looming branches covered most of the sky, making her feel trapped. At night, it seemed even darker than a caved in hole.
Ivy she was shaking where she was as she watched where she was as she closed her eyes as she was trying not hold back down from whimpered. Lark he sighed as he had to follow birch as he wasnt sure about it as he shaking his head a little.
Foxy was getting closer, and she began to break into a run, confident that nobody would catch her. A tree root in her path went unnoticed, and she tripped over it. Pain seared in her forepaw like fire, intense and powerful. She howled in pain, unable to remain quiet after a nasty twist. Terror coursed through her veins. Not only was she alone, but she was in enemy territory. She would be better off dead.
Ivy heard these as she went to follow the sound as she founded what she was staring at her shocked as she letted vines to help her pick up Foxy as she was ready to sprint to get help as she was careful where she was running and stumbling at her footing as she had foxy on her back.
Foxy couldn't see who had picked her up, but the smell was familiar. She didn't try to struggle, though, and clung on the best she could to the slim back of the Snivy. "Just carry me with your... plant thingies." She said inbetween painful inhales. "Oh, I'm so stupid, I'm in for it now..."
Ivy she sighed "thats what Im using my vines" As she called for Birch when she seen him which shocked her that he was still out "BIRCH!" she yelled since he knew that he was learning on being a healer as she was gasping for some air.
Birch turned around, sighing in relief when he saw Ivy. "You finally came to your senses!" He noticed the yellow, red, and white bundle on her back. "Who is that?! Did you just bring an enemy into our land?"
"no she was already on our land when i was about to come back" Ivy said as she had to set down Foxy as she backed up "and these is the fennekin that mom was talking about to"she added at these.
"Oh, Ivy, get that fire monster out of here. It's breathing heavy like it's about to burn us all to dust with its fire-breath." Birch murmured, staring at the creature at backing away. Foxy looked back up at Birch with pleading eyes full of pain and terror. "Just help me get out of here!" She screamed, her shrill voice echoing in the dark woods.
Ivy she flinched as she had to help as she didnt know what to was getting her out of there as she closed her eyes sighing a little. As she was jumping around things as she was careful as she looked forward as she was getting tired from all the running when she gotten to the desert border she had to put foxy there and set her there before getting back to birch.
Foxy laid on the grass, a fern still tickling her. That Snivy hadn't put her on the other side of the grassland. The pain was overbearing, and she didn't want to try and get up to walk. What if a patrol found her? It wouldn't be good news. Her parents would be angry, too. The urge to curl up and disappear like a fading dust storm was strong, but she remained still, sticking out like a sore thumb.
Ivy she was panting when she gotten back to birch as she collasped from all the running she was doing as she closed her eyes as she was holding a yawn. Aden he stopped running to the border when he found foxy as he was out of breath as he went to pick up foxy witch physic and he noticed that her leg was broken.
Foxy saw her father, her heart sinking. He must've been on the night patrol. She was going to be grounded for sure. The pain seemed like the least of her concerns. Javelina would taunt her for ages about her stupidity, and the chores would be endless.
-timeskip in the morning-
Ivy she was staring out at the sky when she founded a meadow to sit at as she sighed as she lowered her head as she enjoyed the breeze. She was tired from all the training she was given as she curled up where she was sitting as she sighed.
Foxy was in the main room, forced to stay by her parents. They didn't want her sneaking off again. Not that she could, anyways, with her broken leg. Her parents hadn't scolded her yet, and Javelina hadn't come to taunt her. Time ticked on too slowly, and the sense of dread crept up on her.
Aden he was talking quietly to amber before he looked over to Foxy with a disappointment look. Javelina she was coming back from hanging out with her friends as she eyed over to her sister as she snickered quietly before she could taunt her. Ivy she brought her head up when she felt someone nudge her as she looked confused.
