A letter to my offspring.

Dearest Sullivan and Theta,

The past few weeks have been wretched ones. Strain and fear have put an unbearable tension onto our family and our lives. Ultimately, in my struggles and frantic thoughts I have reached a conclusion and a new purpose. I must part with you both, I must abandon this world. My purpose and my spirit shall live on in my continued survival as I leave you to turn to dust. A fate so horrible has befallen upon me, a fate that not only awaits me alone; it awaits you both as well. Indeed, a silent predator thirsts for our blood; it haunts me in the darkest of nights and stalks me in the brightest of mornings. In my absence it shall search for new blood. My children, be wary of your futures and partake in my wisdom. I will escape to the realm of slumber and never return. You should be wise to join me but I fear you will not. Sullivan, your adamance in your foolish beliefs shall not remain unpunished. You shall not live a full life. Be fearful my son, you are within death’s cold grasp. Theta, perhaps there is hope for your survival. Join your mother and I in our new purpose, become my accessory and I assure you we will become immortals. Do not fall prey to the totem’s madness. The Somniums will survive, whether it be us all or I alone.
