A sort of sequel to A Few Stages, but you don't really have to read that one to get this one. It's just another small scene about Mason and his journey in life.

The movie playing on the television was more like background noise as Mason watched his finger trace small circles onto Mystery's chest. His boyfriend's arm slung over his form, but Mason didn't feel trapped, the hold was gentle and open, allowing for him to leave if he so desired. He didn't want to though, for what seemed like maybe the first time ever he felt at peace. It was a nice feeling to be happy and safe in another's  embrace. He reached down and pulled Mystery's arm closer around himself as he held the hand to his chest.

"Hey," Mystery's soothing timbre broke into Mason's thoughts and he could feel his scruff across his ear as the other moved his head. "You okay baby?"

Mason nodded still watching the large hand trapped in his hold.

"Do you not like the movie, are you bored?"

This time Mason shook his head. It was nice to hear someone ask him simple things like this, it was nicer to know that Mystery wouldn't be upset even if he said yes. "I was just thinking." Mason let the words linger in the air for a second as he rested his head on Mystery's warm body. "About how happy I am."

A kiss was pressed to the top of his head. "I'm glad you're happy. It makes me feel good to see you like that." Mystery made an odd little noise in surprise and it took Mason a moment to realize what happened he was paying so little attention, content to the point that he was drowsy. But when Mystery chuckled and met the lapping of the large tongue from his stomach he knew exactly what had happened.

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention and now your arm is all wet." Mason's fingers came away covered in sticky saliva when he touched Mystery's forearm.

"It's alright. He just wants in on the loving too." Mystery lead the appendage back into it's rightful place, keeping it from acting up with gentle strokes over the lips. "I love every single part of you Mason, don't forget that."

Mason could feel a blush heat his pale cheeks. Snuggling closer into Mystery's neck to hide his face Mason gave a small smile. "Me too."
