Story

Okay ignore me saying this is short-feel free to take you’re time or anything ;;

In the land of Hell, there were seven princes. They each had their duties, and no single prince was the heir to the throne, for in the kingdom of Hell they had the The King Trials. This wasn’t a normal set of trials, for each demon prince rules over a land on earth. These proved who would be the strongest, for only the strongest could become the king of Hell. Each prince had a different mother, but they all had the same father.

Prince Kayden was the sixth prince of Hell, the second youngest. His mother and father met at a young age, in a event where the prize was bearing one of hells princes. It wasn’t a love match, and wasn’t a sweet fairy tell romance. His mother wanted to bear a strong heir, and his father wanted his mother for her strength. Her and the other six mothers of the Princes all won a spot in the competition. The rest of the contestants, naturally, died.

However, what the King didnt know is that Kayden’s mother had a history of a desise. It isn’t noticeable, unless you use magic. The causes of using magic is coughing up blood (which is black for demons), and was carried down to their son. His father first learnt of his desise when he was training when he was seven, which was his first near-death* experience. When Kayden’s mother was found, she was killed*.

His father, the King, didn’t allow him to be treated until sunset for Kayden to be punished. For what? Really, just for being born. The weak are to be punished. Kayden learnt that lesson from a early age.

He was constantly abused by his older brothers, and his father shunned him. He was locked up in the castle, and wasn’t allowed into the outside world. As far as anyone knew, there was no seventh prince of hell. When their father had meetings, he was locked up in one of the towers in the palace, just in case anyone saw him.

He only had two freinds, his younger brother Astaroth and his older sister Evalore. Ash and Eva were his closes freinds, but later Ash was forced to no longer be near Kayden, and so he only had Eva. His father wasn’t too happy with that, and forced Eva to be married to a neighboring kingdom*.

On Kayden’s seventeenth birthday, everyone was busy planning for The King Trials. It started on their eighteenth birthday, and they were meeting with the courts*. So, naturally, Kayden was locked in his room. When no one was around, he started to escape.

The guards heard the noise, and started to chase him. Kayden ran up the spiral in his room to the top floor, which was a dome of glass. The guards grabbed him right as he reached the top, and Kayden was forced to use some of his magic.

It pushed them away. He didn’t check if they died*. He coughed up blood, feeling weak. But he knew if he was caught he would be killed, no one would know. So, expanding his wings and covering his face, he flew through the glass. It cut him into what felt like a million pieces. Flying away, he stole a baggy cloak from a market, along with a pouch of coins. Wearing the cloak, it was raining the normal human blood in hell. So, he wasn’t the only one wearing a cloak. He went to a stall selling smoke bombs, and used the few coins he’d stolen to buy a pack. It came with six, and they easily fit in his pocket. Wiping some blood off his face, he walked over to the gates of Hell.

It was a tightly guarded place, and so Kayden knew he would be caught if he didn’t act fast. He pulled out one of the smoke bombs, and held it in his hand. Without a second thought, he threw it in the opposite direction. While most of the demons and humans* ignored it, some of the guards went to check.

Making his move, he blended into the crowd and tried to look inconspicuous. A hooded figure in a crowd of hooded figures drew little attention, besides a few laughs. He had hid his wings and tails, but doing so made it look like his spine was twisted. He ignored those who were laughing. It was hell, and while not everyone was bad, most were. Scratch that, pretty much all of them. The only nice ones had been his sister and brother, who weren’t there to help him now.

Stepping through the portal at the end, he landed in the middle of a city. It was raining, hard, and it poured down him. Humans were rushing around, while Kayden was pushed around in the crowd. He stretched out his arm, letting his hand catch some of the rain. It was clear, not like the streaky red he was used to. Did the Earth plane have different rain? What else would be different?

He tried to find his bearings. He felt slightly naucous, second-hand effect of the magic portal, he guessed. He was starting to wonder if this was a good idea, when a soft ‘crow’ sounded from his pocket. Reaching in, he found Finn, his crow familiar.

“What are you doing in here?” He asked quietly, sheltering him in his hands form the rain. Shaking, Finn lightly pecked his hand. “Okay okay, I’ll get us something to eat.” He walked around the city, finding a building with bright lights coming from inside, a stark contrast from the dark rain outside*.

He stepped into the building, entering a room with tables and chairs. Misculanious humans sat around, and appeared to be staring at what appeared like glowing books, except sideways*. A soft chime ringed as he entered the room, and sat down at one of the tables.

Keeping his hood on, he marveled at the soft plush of the chair*. All the chairs back at the palace were hard and stiff, but these were more like cushions then those. It was comfy. In front of him were one of the glowing books. Opening it, it asked him for ‘password’.

Password for what? He thought. Was it wanting him to enter the word Password? He looked at the pad below the screen. In hell they had to learn the other languages, but since he wasn’t invited to his brothers lessons, his sister Eve taught him. While he wasn’t fluent, he matched the charectors with those on the screen, and It opened up to a page of icons. There was little designs on it, but before he could look further, someone coughed loudly, and he felt two knives on his shoulder.

Looking up, he law a girl. She had purple-ish hair, and was glaring at him. Did this girl have the ability to kill with her eyes? It felt like that. “What are you doing with my Laptop?” She asked, giving him a death stare.

“You’re-youre what?” He asked, blushing. “I wasn’t doing anything with the top of you’re lap.”

“Wh-that’s not what I meant. Are you dense?” She asked, and snagged the glowing book out of his hands, grabbing her bag and putting it away. “Laptop. As in, computer.” When he gave her a blank look, she sighed. He was amazed someone was talking to him. Everyone at the palace ignored him. Then it dawned on him.

“I’ll accept any punishment you decide is worthy,” he said, lowering his head, prepared for the talons to slice down his back like his brothers had done to him.

“What-why would I punish you?” She asked, and stared at him. He was beginning to get uncomfortable, and stood up, straightening.

He went into the living room of Ellie’s apartment. She was sitting on a couch (which she had explained to him), and he’d changed into her spare clothes. He was wearing a large sweater, with sweatpants. He had cut holes in the sweatshirt for his wings. He hoped Ellie wouldn’t be mad at him.

Ellie looked at him in astonishment. “You really aren’t human, are you?” She asked. He looked at her quizzically.

“I told you I wasn’t. Why do you only believe me now?” Ellie shook her head, singing.

“Nevermind,” she said, and grabbed his hand, pulling him out of the building. Suddenly, she hissed, and held her hand tightly to her chest. “Ouch-I think you shocked me.” Her hand was red and blistering, and the rain was still coming down hard. She stared at the burn in a mixture of shock and amazement. “What in the?” She trailed off, and suddenly winced.

“Ow, ow, ow! Geesh, now I’m going to have to go back to my apartment. Way to go Ellie,” she said to herself, and then stared at him. “You. Yes you. You’re coming with me. I’m figuring out what you just did to my pour hand.”

He really had no idea, but before he could say anything, she walked off. He hurried after her, having no where else to go. They walked awhile, until they eventually came to a complex of buildings where Ellie unlocked the door, and went in.

He followed her in, and Ellie closed the door, locking it behind him. “Cabinet, two to the right. Theirs a first aid kit there, grab it.” He followed her instructions, and handed her the kit.

“Hey Ellie, the front door was unlocked so I-“ Kayden looked over, seeing a blonde boy in a sweater. “Who’s this? You’re new boyfriend? You two cosplaying?” The boys eyes ran over Kayden, raising one of his eyebrows quizzically.

“Shut up Lucas,” Ellie said, throwing a pillow at him, which the boy-lucas-caught and put under his arm. “Were not cosplaying, jerk. He just tried to still my laptop, and so I’m punishing him.”

Lucas let out a small laugh. “Punishing him how, Ellie?” He said with a smirk. Kayden felt suddenly small. They were taking about him-he thinks-and it was making him uncomfortable.

“Shut up Lucas!” Ellie repeated, throwing another pillow at him.

“Um-excuse me,” Kayden started, as they were staring at each other. “Excuse me!” Now, they were both looking at him. It was unsettling, the eyes of a veryangry human and a very amused one. “My names Kayden. I-I wasn’t trying to steal anything, I’m sorry.”

Ellie sighed, and put down the pillow she was preparing to throw at Lucas. “You’re really not from here, are you?” Kayden noddedl shifting uncomfortably.

In order of appearence:

*dying in hell doesn’t give you an afterlife. The hellfire and creatures eat souls and  burn them to a crisp. If you survived those, you still had the Soul Market to deal with, where demons buy and sell souls. When you die, you don’t keep you’re memories either, and you aren’t recognizable either, since you’re just a wisp to start and slowly can make a more defined form.

*Kaydens mother actually lived, and had a love life. Kayden had two half-siblings who are human. He runs into them later on his journey.

*Hell has nine kingdoms. Seven of them are ruled by the princes. One of them is ruled by the king, and one of them is where souls of the dead in hell go. These are the ‘nine layers of hell’, as mortals got some of the facts right. These kingdoms for the princes are ruled by the courts until The King Trials end, and the princes who don’t make it go into their kingdoms by how close they were to winning.

*Courts: see the above

*he entered a cafe

*glowing sideways books: laptops. In hell they don’t have technology, or at least anything Kayden has seen.

———————————————————————————————————-

Sorry it’s so short! Like I said, is definetly turn this into a full length novel if I got him/youre fine with it. I didn’t have enough time to finish his story, but here’s the rest of it in a nutshell:

Kayden becomes close freinds with Ellie and Lucas, who are roommates. He moves in with them. They find a way to hide his wings/horns/ears, and he goes to (high) school with them. They have a fun time, have semi-freinds, and generally try to enjoy their high school life. They go out occasionally, and (like I said) become close. This is a pretty long part, but since I, trying to breif I’ll skip over it.

However, on the way back to the apartment (Ellie was abused by her parents from a young age, and Lucas was her best freind. They moved out after saving money, however all three of them are 17), they get attacked in an alleyway. Ellie goes into shock when the mysterious man grabs her, having trauma and reliving some of her abuse. Lucas tries to help, but ends up getting beaten up and breaking one of his arms. Kayden, not being awakened (basically a ‘growth spurt’, where you’re physically stronger. Kayden doesn’t believe he’ll  ever reach that), he starts hearing a ‘voice’ in his head, repeating dark things. He tries to push it away, and uses his magic.

Howveer, the ‘voice’ takes control of the moment and overuses it, hurting both Ellie and Lucas in the process. The man/attacker is no where to be seen. Kayden starts coughing up blood. A witness called 911, and a ambulance picks them up and takes them to a hospital. Lucas stays there for a hand full of weeks, and Ellie heals as well, however doesn’t stay at the hospital. They visit Lucas and he eventually comes back to the apartment.

Things eventually get back to normal, but the event was like a taboo and no one speaks of it. Kayden keeps seeing a black shiloutte of himself in mirrors/reflections, and sees it in his dreams. It’s the same thing as the ‘voice’. One night, more men come and try to kill Kayden in his sleep. Ellie and Lucas fight them off, but he learns he’s a danger to them. As such, he decides he has to leave. He travels around, never staying in the same place for a long time.

He decides to travel around as a cosplayer, and earns money from taking pictures with people. The ‘voice’ never leaves him, and keeps talking to him/appearing. He learns it is his demonic side. He has a bunch of little adventures that I won’t get into with others (this is how I’d explain the group pictures/artwork with other peoples ocs). At some point he hears that Ellie is in mortal danger, and is at a hospital in a coma. He goes there, and tries everything (he goes in through the window, since visitors aren’t allowed).

Ellie dies, and he isn’t able to go to her funeral, but visits her grave. He goes into a very dark place mentally, and loses contact with Lucas, who is also grieving and pushes him away. He starts to listen to the ‘voice’, and does pretty dark things I also won’t get into. His cute/innoncent side he used to have is lost in the greif. One day, the ‘voice’ coxes him into jumping off a building. Right as he’s about to jump, Lucas grabs him, crying.

He tells him it’ll be okay, and that that isn’t what Ellie would want. They both cry together, and they go back to the apartment. They pack up and move out. They eventually start dating as well, and one day Lucas proposes to him at Ellie’s grave, so she can be apart of it. They hear a voice saying “about time.” And look over to see Ellie. They hug her, but Kayden declines the proposal.

Lucas is heartbroken, but understands kayden isn’t ready. They ask Ellie a lot of questions, and she answers that she doesn’t know. (The truth is, she made a deal with kayden’s ‘voice’, which brought her back under the condition she listens to it, since Kayden never listens).

Kayden eventually turns 18, and has to enter the King Trials. He tries to leave, but they insist on coming with him. Kayden says they can’t, and that he’ll be back in a year. The ‘voice’ that’s currently speaking to Ellie tells her a way for them to join him, and they set off to find kayden’s mother. (End of the first story).

Next story is basically from Kayden POV in hell and competing in the king trials. It ends with him winning, the last line being that he won. During the king trials there’s a bunch of challenges, and he has to compete against his brothers. He also reconnects with Eve, his sister who is married. Time is different in hell, and is much slower. So, while Kayden spends what feels like a year, it’s been two in the mortal realm. Meanwhile, Ellie and Lucas go on a quest to find kaydens mom, and

The third book (maybe final, i like the idea of a trilogy), would include Kayden having to step up to be king, trying to fix everything, overcoming his fears, and just overall a wrap to the story.

———————————————————————————————————

Okay the ‘breif’ overveiw is a bit long...sorry! The start of the story, that I went into above, is also a breif telling. If I got him, I’d go into a lot more detail about his story and everything! Thank you so much for reading ^^

(Also, if writing a book wasn’t okay with you (like I wouldn’t be publishing it), id also be interested in making a webtoon/webcomic series! If not, again, I’ll just put his story in his literatures :3)

Part three/book three, Ellie actually becomes sort of ‘possesed’ by the ‘voice’, in an alternate dimension. This starts in book/part 2 In her dimension, but it really begins to show in part/book 3. She becomes some sort of dictator over the mortal plane in that dimension with dark powers from the ‘voice’. In book 3 Ellie goes missing due to Kayden’s mother, which is shown in the epilogue. Kayden’s mother is sort of mad...or is she just much more aware? It’s hard to tell. Lucas is left behind while  Ellie is put in that alternative dimension. Her self in that dimension is cold and ruthless, and sort of ‘adopts’ ellie from the original dimension. It’s a world where everything has gone wrong, and Ellie has gone mad with the voice.

Meanwhile, Kayden has attempted assasinations, unrest, and plotting against him. He had to take the role of king, but his brothers are very against it. When he recieves a distress letter from his older sister Eve, he knows he has to take action. His little brother Ash has gone missing, along with mysterious reports of strange souls appearing in hell. As well, the seperate lands in Hell, ruled by his brothers and the courts, might prove more dangourous than the King Trials he faced. Now that the ‘voice’ is gone (or is it?), he is starting to be able to use his magic. His sister in danger, and his powers just starting to awaken, he has to figure out how to solve things before Hell falls apart.

Lucas, having Ellie missing and Kayden being gone for almost two years, is lost and confused. While Kayden has rejected his multiple attempts to be engaged, they are still dating and having him gone so long hurts. And it feels like he just got Ellie back, and she’s gone again. He keeps losing those close to him. When a mysterious group comes knocking on his door that Kayden is in danger, he begins to wonder just how much he knows. It turns out they were trying to assasianate Kayden before the ‘voice’ over took him, Ie. How it has happened in the alt. dimension Ellie is in. Lucas has to rely on new allies, and needs to learn to accept some tragic losses he will face.
