Ender's Waterfall
I actually kind of still like this one. It is about how Ender had to find herself by herself. It was supposed to be really meaningful but I never finished it. Anyways, enjoy!
Chapter 2
It was a few weeks before I even offered myself the chance to go back to that
waterfall. I was too worried about what
could happen. After deciding that I sounded like my sister's worrisome boyfriend, I teleport to the waterfall to find the same magical wonder as last time. I climb the
rocks yet again and go in that little break in
the waves.
Back inside the cave, my eyes adjusted quickly to the darkened room kit by the sun that came through the waves. I go over and check that the Clearwater sign was still there and look over to the water.
Just like last time, it was very still and
clearer than the waterfall.
I take a deep breath and step in. What were you saying last time? I ask that little fairy
voice that existed when my head was under
the water.
"I am not capable of remembering past conversations." she replied simply. I think back to my fears about being the dragon. They seemed so childish after all the thinking I had done. I straighten up and ask the fairy, why are you here? That
seemed more reasonable.
"I do not have an answer for that."
I sigh. She didn't even know why she was here, so why was I? Why did you bring me
here?
"You came. I did not summon you."
I couldn't believe it! What was this witchery?! I decided to take a different
approach. What's my name?
"You already know that answer.”
Darn it! Suddenly, I begin gasping for air and I jump out of the waterfall, again soaked to the bone, and cold. It was a strange thing, coming from a below zero place like the End made me quite immune to colder temperatures.
I shiver and climb out of the cave before
teleporting home.
Don't know why, but my powers just I
didn't seem to work inside the cave.
Most likely was the water.
I hoped that was the real answer.
"You're soaked?” My brother, Nathan, questions as I sit in the kitchen taking a bit to eat. “I thought you.."
"I am" I cut him off. Most Briggs, unlike my show-off-powerd sister, our health failed
when we were in the water.
"Robert attack?" Nathan whispers. He knew if Trine heard, she'd be all over the conversation in seconds.
I shake my head. “Would you believe me if I told you?”
He nods as he sits in a chair next to me.
He's never felt like family, but
"I was walking down the river.” I pause to think through what I was going to say. "and I can across a waterfall”
His eye widens and brow raises. Don't forget the fact that he wore an eye patch to cover the dark powers that showed in the
left.
"When I went inside, I found a sign that read" but I couldn't say Clearwater. I try again, by my mouth moves and no sound comes out.
Nathan has a questioning look on his face.
"I can't say it" I whisper.
"You don't need to tell me" Nathan reminds
me.
"No, there is some magic keeping me from saying it” I worry.
"Its fine, we'll try something else for what this sign said. Is there more you'd like to tell me?"
I place down the fork I had been playing with and sigh. "I'll finish later.” I say in
defeat. I push my chair back and leave before he has anything else to say.
I had to admit, he loved to help.
But how could I explain something this
fairy-like voice does not want me to
explain?
