From What Lurks In The Basement

Having gotten the paper signed without batting an eye, Sylas was now happily clinging to not just one, but two books he had acquired. Today was definitely going down as one of the best in his eternal lifespan. The meal was splendid, the manor was even bigger on the inside during their short tour, and he had found out that even his fiance was well read. Lightly chatting over lunch about the latest book being given for signing the paper, the fairy already couldn't wait until he had a few moments to himself for it. He had come expecting a long day however, so he was trying to be patient.

At the moment their footsteps were echoing through a long stairwell as they descended into the basement. Not finding it ominous at all, Sylas was confident enough in his magical capabilities to get himself out of any unsavory situation. "It's awfully far down, how much room did you need to make for this important thing?" He finally questioned as the minutes dragged on.

Down the spiraling staircase they went, soon the light of the halls vanished far behind them and only lanterns that lined the walls were left. With these being the storage areas and dungeons that were used for his ‘work’, it was less unkept as maids didn’t really enjoy being downstairs. Seth didn’t mind though, liking his privacy and found it was wonderful having a small area that not everyone would visit in fear of what they may walk into.

THere was one other ‘treasure’ down here though, one Seth adored more than any fancy object he could get his hand on. His mind still filled with the fond memories as he went along, leading his new husband to be behind him. They had to of course get his baby's approval, though Seth didn’t say that dragon would say no to anything that made the rider happy.

“You’ll see in a moment. Mithras! Are you away my good boy?” Hearing a roar from close by, he smiled, tugging Sylas with him as he moved closer. “I have someone I want you to meet Mithras. Don’t worry, he won’t take your coins.”

Passing by a few doors, down they went. Further and further until finally they reached the bottom. Where apparently someone named Mithras lived. A big someone, with a big roar. Well... Sylas did still have some spells to make a quick escape with over fighting too as Seth dragged him along.

A brief moment of darkness later, and the pair were face to face with a dragon resting upon its hoard. While it was pretty obvious who it belonged to, he still questioned the sanity of bringing him down to see them right away. At least they did have dinner first, which hopefully this Mithras had too.

"Good evening.." looking them over, everything screamed fire dragon, but you could never be too careful. Bowing slightly, given what Seth claimed earlier, Sylas obviously wasn't about to lay a finger on those gold coins it was protecting, but he wouldn't have been very interested in anything. Money was nice and all, but only to be used to purchase more books. "My name is Sylas, Seth's new.. pet?" He was a little questioning at the end. If he remembered right, that's what the servants in the bath were gossiping about while helping the pretty new 'pet' clean up. Though he slightly questioned it considering they were to be wed.

Excited with his tail swished and a small pocket of small golden coins, Seth opened his arms and released Sylas as they came to the dragon and his hoard. The dragon more then happy to move a little to get his head stroked and kissed by the blond cat boy who went shuffling around in his pocket for the familiar jingles that only meant one thing.

“Hello Sylas.” Not a dragon of many words, as it exhaled a small puff of fire came from his nose. Fanned away by Seth who gave his offering of coins that were put at the top of the pile and laid on.

Mithras was a rather large dragon, taking up a large portion of the room as is. His larger wings were folded away, but Seth wasn’t frightened at all by the dragon. If anything rubbing and cooing at it like it was a small baby who needed nothing but love. Which it was to him, his fire dragon was always going to be his baby even if so big it would be near impossible to get him out.

“This is my new pet, does he please you too?” Seth asked, now catching the interest of the dragon who moved off his hoard for a moment.

GIven a poke with his large snout, and then sniffled, squinted at, and huffed at, Mithas was thinking it over while staring at the long haired male. Seth holding out a coin for Sylas to take and offer over to the dragon to please the spoiled boy who almost always got what he wanted.

“Well he is pretty....” Eyeing the coin, it was pretty obvious what the fire dragon wanted, and as soon as the slender hand held out that single coin the huffy dragon was pleased once more. Curling the hoard before settling down on it once more. “The offering is accepted, I approve of your choice in bond partner.”

Grinning a bit, Sylas got the feeling that it wasn't him the dragon really meant was pretty, but the shiny gold coin Seth had slipped him. Holding it out and watching those eyes suddenly light up after nudging and huffing at him just a moment before. They seemed to have a lot in common, both having a love to collect precious items, and very much willing to accept just about anything to get their hands - or claws- on more. He was pretty sure they'd get along just fine. Especially if he could get ahold of more shimmering offerings to simply come down and read with the dragon. A nice, quiet place no one liked to come down to was always the perfect reading area.

"Why thank you~ I look forward to getting to know each other better." Or more like hanging out in the dark. Now he just needed to find a nice place in the light and outside to read wherever he had the urge.
