Dash and the Gem Mountain

    Dash walked into town, it was a seemingly normal day. He was walking through the town to get to the farms to see if any of the farmers were actually selling anything useful. He traveled along the dirt path and looked around at all the stores that surrounded him. There was a  party shop,  accessory shop, a party shop, and so much more. What he saw in the middle of town however, stopped him in his tracks, it was a billboard saying "Mission".

    Finally, he could go on a mission! He examined it and thanked the stars that only one mission was claimed so far. True, he would've liked to take down that two-headed beast, there were lots of other missions he could take on. He looked through them until he saw the last mission that was listed. This would be his mission, he just needed to get some herbs from a mountain, no big deal, he didn't see why he got such a sweet award for something so small but he wasn't going to say anything, just in case he would get something more difficult. 

    He ran off to where he knew Moon and Sun would be so he could claim the mission. When he saw the two of them he quickly ran up to them and shouted: "I'll get those herbs before anyone else gets a chance!" He then started to run to where he knew the mountain would be, Sun and Moon looked surprised when they saw him and when he just started too run off they yelled back at him simultaneously: "Do you accept the mission? remember you have only ten days!" He slowed down for a second, he forgot about the ten days part, which was all the more reason to get through this quickly.

    He yelled back to them from far away: "Yes I do!" Sun and Moon then ran over to where he was at a amazingly fast pace, Dash knew they were fast but it took them about 10 seconds what took him 1 minute, and it didn't even look like they were tired at all. Sun smiled at him and handed him a potion. She then said: "here is the Potion, please use wisely, only if there a gem monster near by, and take it so it can help you in further missions" Dash liked the sound of that, having his very own monster, sounded so cool, he could go to the pet store but he didn't want a Nibbler, almost every Oralova has a Nibbler.

    Moon walked forward and said: "your missions ends in ten days, it will end May 30th at this time ... " Moon then looked at his watch and nodded. He then continued talking "Everyday you will lose ten health points because of Hunger and tiredness". Together they said: "Good luck, your mission starts NOW!" Dash took the potion and ran off again while yelling: "I Shall find the most amazing Gem Monster as possible. !" As he was running he heard anther shout from behind him, it was Sun yelling: "And don't forget the herbs dear!, they are call Moon tears , they are dull purple and blue flowers!"

    It barely heard it, but he knew exactly what he would do now. It would run to the mountain and grab the herbs they wanted, and he would grab the coolest monster he saw there before leaving. He would come back with his first pet, reputation, and he would get a good pay when he came back as well. The wind flew by him as he ran, he was all ready out of town and about half way to the mountain. He had never been to the mountain before, he had only ever seen it from a distance, and he was ready to see something new.

    He reached the foot of the mountain and entered a cave. He stopped, he realized he had no idea where he was looking for the Moon tears. He shook off that thought and continued into the cave, he wouldn't have been given this mission if Moon and Sun didn't trust him to be able to get the herbs. As he walked through the cave he couldn't help but marvel at the many gems scattered through out the cave. They seemed to glow and pulse, he wondered how many he might be able to carry back.

    All the gems were clear and sparkled, he touched one and felt a chill across his back. He took a step back from the gem, it felt cold, like ice except dry. He shook his head again and ran deeper into the mountain, he didn't have time to look at all those gems, he needed to do his mission! He hadn't seen any monsters since he had entered mountain, in fact he hadn't seen any creature at all. It was empty except for him, how was he going to get a gem creature when it was so empty?

    He woke up to the next day to come face to face with Yarrow. What was he doing here? this was his mission, not Yarrow's. He growled at Yarrow, and Yarrow jumped back. "Did I startle you?" he said, "What are you doing here!" Dash glared and got up. "I'm on the mission to get herbs for Moon and Sun."

    "Wha-but that's my mission! I came here to get Moon tears." "I came here to get some Sea hair" Yarrow answered "I guess we're here for the same mission." Dash was angry, he know that they could have partners on the mission, but they never said that more then one Oralova could have the same mission and do it on their own. He felt like this mission was stolen from him, why did Yarrow also have to take it? Dash thought for a second Sea hair? why would Yarrow be at a mountain for Sea hair?
    "Sea hair?" Dash said out loud "i thought you only found Sea hair in the sea." "Well, yeah, you can find it in the sea but you can more easily find it in the gem water. I tried to find it while doing the sea shell mission, but i couldn't find any." "Well what are you doing here talking to me? just leave me to my own business and I'll leave you to yours." "I haven't found any gem water yet, so I was wondering if you had seen some?"

    "No I haven't seen any, now if you'll excuse me I'll be doing my OWN mission, without asking ANYONE else where my herb is." "Well I haven't seen your herb anywhere I'm afraid." "Was I asking YOU!" "No, I guess not, I just thought you might want to know that you're walking into the cave I came out of." "SO?" "Well there isn't any Moon Tears that way"

    Dash stopped, he was embarrassed at his mistake and he walked down the only other way to go that wasn't where he or Yarrow came out of. Yarrow was walking behind him, why was Yarrow walking him, didn't he listen! "I thought I told you to leave me alone!" "I will when we see a tunnel that nether of us have been through" Dash growled and grined his teeth, he didn't talk for the rest of the day.

    The next day the two of them still hadn't found anther tunnel. Yarrow kept on trying to make conversation, Dash just wanted to get out of there. Dash hurried Yarrow along so they could find a place where they could separate. Dash's heard jumped for join when he saw a opening ahead, so much so he didn't look at the gems that were around them. "Look gems!" Yarrow said, "come on slow poke!" Dash said we're almost there! "Did you hear that?" Yarrow said, Dash stopped, he hadn't heard anything "Hear what?"

    ROARRRRRRRR! Dash heart jumped again but not for joy, no, defiantly not for joy. He looked around and noticed that the gems were red, gems from gem mountain didn't change color until they were token out of the cave. Something was wrong, but he wasn't sure what, he was sure that, whatever it was they had to get out of there. "Quickly! cast the taming spell!!!" Yarrow's shout broke through his thoughts, and he fumbled for his spell. He had it ready in his paw, and so did Yarrow, ahead of them they saw and giant red gem bear.

    There was something wrong with the bear as well, unclaimed gem creatures were white, like gem water. The bear was the wrong color, just like the gems. There wasn't much time to think why, now was a time for action. The two of them were in a chamber that connected to a bunch of different tunnels with a giant bear. Dash, was good at what his name said, so, when he realized that there were a bunch of tunnels he ran into one of them leaving yarrow behind.  

    He ran until the gems were the right color, when his surroundings were right he stopped for a breath. He wondered if he should go back, but he know he wasn't going to. He walked on, and realized he was going up hill, he came out of the tunnel to the surface. He was near the top of the mountain, it was night time, there were thousands of stars in the sky. He felt like he could reach out a touch one, in the middle of where he was, was the largest body of gem water there was, the great gem lake.

    The wind was lightly blowing, before then he had always dreamed of being a fire Oralova, but he suddenly understood the love for air and riding on the wind. He felt like his heart was flying, and that he could just jump up and take off. He looked below him, he could almost see the whole island. He then looked above him at the full moon, it was comforting, he hadn't felt like this since, since... since the incident.  He shook the memory of the incident from his head.

    He was here, that was then, this was now. Around the gem Lake there were herbs of all sorts, as far as he could tell, every herb that ever existed. He looked through the herbs until he found a patch of dull blue and purple flowers, the moon tears. He picked most of the patch and put them in the bag he was carrying. His paw brushed up ageist the taming spell, he pulled it out and laid on the ground. 

    He had never gotten around to taming anything he realized, he wanted to use it but right now he just felt like taking a nap. So he looked up into the full moon with the wind blowing ageist his fur and closed his eyes. He opened his eyes in the morning, to come face to face with a falcon, he jumped up and the falcon flew off of him. He looked on the ground and saw the taming potion was empty, he looked at the falcon again and realized what happened. Normally he would be angry, but, he wasn't, he smiled and sat down near the edge of the mountain looking down. The falcon landed on his head and together they started to climb down the surface of the mountain.
