Tree Thoughts

A tree , for most people here  is a simple thing.  A bringer of air , a fancy centerpiece , a holder of a memory.  The tree of the sun brigade was no different... except, quite a few secrets are kept  at this  particular  tree. Today it seems , is no different. 

hi.. Cosmolotto, is it? Do you mind if I sit with you? 

Aw naw , go ahead.. I've seen you around but we've never spoke . What's your name?

Koca,  of course! It's the name I've taken based off my two caretakers, miko and cade!

No wonder you knew my name eh.. ya ol man miko might told you ..

Yeah, he did.. he kept mentioning another name tho.. 

...sigh..

Oh! I'm sorry.. you might not want to remember it , huh..

It was quiet for a little bit , the tension was thick ... until suddenly  the bun started  to speak , especially  while focused on a certain duo.

Man.. it seems everyone's pretty happy these days. Our vanguard ,  comes in with  his bombshell of a boyfriend.. what was his name? coconut cheese??

???

koca suddenly began to get it , and began to laugh 

pfftt... i think you mean kokonah-chi.. hehe...

are you laughing at me? hmph! i mean what i say , lil dude..

whatever you say, cosmic lottery .... 

ha. ha. very funny .

well, what do you mean  by  everyone?

 seems everyone is already matched up .. 

really? 

 apollo with his "friend" cheese... they insist they arent together but its  a matter of time before they do... 

monterra seems to hang with poco a lot.. 

suddenly, koca begins to pout  at this . 

NUH UH! i dont believe it . that wouldnt  happen!

idk, dude... they both are pretty nerdy and weird , and support each others  passions .. 

 hey, wait .. why are you suddenly so defensive ?

I  may or may not know a friend  with an interest in one of  the two... 

his face starts to glow a light blue, and out of respect for him cosmolotto ignores this . 

ah.. i see . good luck to them then

his tries to move on, but not with out wondering  as to which one of the two.. after all he does spend a decent amount of time around both of the folk.. 

oh well.. moving on!

29s very tight lipped , but I have a  feeling someones caught her eye, that weve never even seen before  .. sad for roiss though, I think he likes her ..

wow. sucks for them .

and finally , ya dear ol  caretakers ...

a loud sigh comes from the bun.

saffreida seems hell bent on getting miko and- 

and i hear  cades being set up with her brother ! he blurted out.

NO WAY.  for real? 

yeah . Nine told me .   supposed to come over today, i think ... was hoping to get a peek myself .  this trees a good spot for me to see them! and i dont think theyll look this way...

lil brat. howd she even figure that out ?

she has quite a way with words , spy work and information.. probably has lotta experience with it too.

  cosmo suddenly started to look over at miko,  who was sitting at   the  camp area - a common meet up place , and eating some lunch  . he was probably  waiting for saffreida   and cade, he thought.  

did .. somthing happen there?

with you and my caretaker.. 

cade? nah .. he was all bro'd up with miko then. we talk sometimes but thats about it..

no, silly bun. miko!

 yeah. was way before you were around miko , but I assume after he met cade.. maybe  you still  were wondering , or you were born a little later , cuz im not too far off age wise from you..

  back then , I went under a different name , and was a clumsy  ,  but  happy bun. i had a fair amount of friends , was in school, and  was raised to be quite one way - smile, look pretty  ,   find and  support your soulmate , total devotion and obedience to your seniors ,   blah blah blah .. and DONT! flash your mutations.. you know how that gets....

when I was old enough..

well... I  deemed myself old enough I fought  tooth and nail  to get out and they finally let me..  It was not long before I reached town and found him - cheery , and passing out flyers  for what would soon be the sun brigade   . something about him was just.. magical, I guess  .  its like he noticed me or something,   because he approached me  as soon as i had the thought of  asking about joining ..

hi there! he says.. how would you  feel about helping us start up a group ? 

what sorta group ? is what i end up asking.

honestly? i dont fully know yet! but im for sure that you are the one who can help me ... then he passes me the stupid flyer.. i can remember what it says still... 

how would you like to be  part of .. something? a place that would help with finding your passions ?  help wanted! 

sure . my stupid self ended up saying.

and the most stupid grin was on his face... boy ,was he happy . and thats when the heartache began..

my role was pretty much was what i believe  was a result of my upbringing . .. but i believed it wholeheartedly.

i was at mikos beck and call- anything he needed , or his little friend needed , I was there. 

total devotion?

totally.

i smiled, i looked pretty good to my caretakers standards...

but did  you look good for yourself?

 if you asked me that back then, I wouldve said it didnt matter.. 

but no, no i did not.

as for me ,  i hoped for that  we could be together.. without the brigade stuff. especially without that plain jane and emotional wreck ,  cade.

 oops.. no offense..

its all good. hes trying now, at least..

 one day i worked up the courage to ask him . he said yes, of course..

sounds good ! why be sad about it ?  

after all that , heres what he says ! " what a great day! nothing like a good day  between friends .. "

i was shocked, but not as much when he said this:

"some griffolk is even interested in seeing me for dinner too..  was kinda cute .. maybe something might come out of it? I guess we'll see . "  get this- he winks at me! 

boy, was i angry . I stormed off  in a huff . 

 i got home, tore my outfit, and changed into something more comfortable..  was originally a  casual outfit i wore when i was doing volunteer work in the brigades name, but it felt more me then anything i ever wore .

I told cade i was taking a day off - usually i told miko, but HE didnt care . .. so why say anything? he understood.

i went to my old home for support- all i got was trashed on my outfit, pitiful looks , and that i didnt "try hard enough". they already replaced me too- couldve sworn  I heard noises in my caretakers room, all my stuff was in boxes too....

to hell with that , i say!

 and i decided -

he looks around a bit , to make sure nobody is listening in... as he looks, he sees that cade  joined up with miko.

well look at that , think ya peeks coming up soon..

but instead , i came up with a clever way to  decide this for myself...

 a mission.

mission S , to be exact.

 I presented it to cade  and miko and they loved it.. ofc they did! all they cared about was their little group..

what was mission s?

 the s was for "see you later! " cuz i figured i could tell em that when i came to my decision .. 

i was off on a " around the world"  trip for recruiting!  once i did this , i figured  id take so long theyd forget that i was even in the group..  i met a lotta people , feral bavoms who taught me how to change my look and how to be less of a pushover.. I served there for a bit .. even  met apollo, who was at the time  legitimately just a forest dweller .. ofc, thats a whole other story, haha..

WHAT do you mean you met apollo? i thought apollo always ran things??? 

not that i know of , nope.. was a treat to see him  again so soon though..

i did a lotta soul searching , and found myself, with big props to apollo .. by then i was at peace with miko  and at peace with myself, even..

and i instead decided to stay, to build upon what we started...

and cuz mikos a dummyhead.

suddenly , as if he knew he was being talked about, he turned around and looks at cosmolotto... they ended up staring at each other for a good minute, before he quickly waved and focuses back to cade, who was chatting away and had no idea he even was looking that way.

did you see that?

that guy! he was totally looking at me..

why is he even with cade? if anything hell be mine ..

yours? how do you know he isnt ok with cade?

trust me he isnt.. and  he has to be the one i was destined to be with..

but cosmolotto didnt hear him. he was already walking off , set in his ways...
