As Robin went up the stairs with the tray in hand, carrying a steamy, hot soup with some medicine on one side and flowers for herbal reasons on the other, he could hear a loud sneeze from one of the rooms.

The sneeze startled him so much that he nearly tripped on his way up; he wobbled and bent forward to contain his balance. Leaning just mere inches from the ground, he sighed with relief then prompted himself back up. The wobbliness caused a light chatter between the dishes.

“Bless you!” Robin hollered as he lightly banged on the wall in case he wasn’t heard verbally from below. When he got to the door, he pressed his shoulder up against it to open, revealing a very sick sight of Anastasia, whom was clutching the bedsheets close to her face. “Thank you,” she responded softly out partially out of embarrassment and partially because she was losing her voice today.

Robin smiled then set the tray on the bedside table. He sat on the bed next to her legs, where one foot stood out from the blanket. “Too hot?” Anastasia shook her head but wasn’t quite certain with her answer as her eyebrows furrowed with puzzlement. “I am.. but I’m not.”

Robin cupped Anastasia's cheek endearingly, both as a compliment to her face and to check her temperature through touch. “You’re burning up. Hopefully the fever will die down once you take some medicine.”

“Where is Mihai?” Anastasia asked with more seriousness to her voice, clearing her throat from a cough. Robin shook his head then sat in a better position next to her, pulling her feet together and bundled them under the blanket. He messaged them slightly at the toes then kissed along her legs.

“He went out to get some more medicine in case you need it,” he finished this sentence as if to suggest no more questions. “I don’t want to trouble you guys. Really. Just give me a few days; don’t worry about the medicine.”

Robin shook his head again then prompted himself up to the table before getting the soup up onto Anastasia's lap. He opened his mouth just slightly while bringing a spoonful of soup up to her lips. “Oh stop, I can feed myself. I’m sick, not an infant.”

Her face flushed, but she remained stubborn. She pulled back slightly to the headboard but Robin kept getting close. It was practically like he was leaning in more to kiss her until he convinced her body to give in, allowing the spoon to lightly touch the edge of her lips. The exhale from her nose pushed the steam towards Robin’s mouth as he let out a soft chuckle, keeping just inches away from her face, before he pulled back to get another spoonful.

“You’re not eating enough. Mihai told me he was having a hard time getting you to eat snacks, so it’s my turn.” He brings the spoon up to Anastasia, who sipped lightly on it and gulped in response to the hot sensation of the fluids going down. She let out a soft “mmm” as she leaned back into her pillow. “I love your chicken soup.” “And I love you.”

Robin extended his arm over to the other side of Anastasia's body then leaned in for a kiss. She nearly jerked away but played it off with a kiss back. She giggled then actually gave him a light shove. “You’re going to get sick.”

“That’ll just mean Mihai has two sick babies to take care of,” he joked, leaving the soup on her lap before going back to the table. He measured out the medicine he prepped for her then turned his attention back. “C’mon. You’re not gonna like it, but it’ll do you some good.”

Anastasia’s face twisted with discomfort, knowing exactly which medicine Mihai got for her. “They didn’t give him trouble for bringing my medicine, did they? When he gets back, tell him I’ll make my own medicine.”

Robin quickly kissed her, using his free hand to lightly pulling her in against him. She shoved him again then lightly smacked him. “You’re insane.” “You worry way too much. We’ll do what we can to help you because we love you.” “Don’t die just because I’m going to.” “We’re all gonna die; we just wanna go out being here for you.”

Anastasia slumped back, admitting defeat. She knew in her heart that she was constantly going to get sick and for them to constantly make the effort to do the most weighed on her with guilt. Her incurable disease riddled within her with no warning; she’ll never know when it’ll take her down for good. It didn’t make sense to give them too much hope, yet they gave it to her anyways.

Robin proceeded to give her the medicine, in which she shuddered just thinking about the taste. She pinched her nose then swallowed it down, feeling the disgusting taste of the herbals trailing into her system.

She shook her head with a grimace before reaching out to take three spoonfuls of soup with pieces of chicken into her mouth. She allowed the taste of it to squish around before gulping. Robin laughed amusingly. “Ha, ha, laugh at my pain.” “You’re just too cute.” “Perish.”

Anastasia pushed the soup back to adjust herself, resting her head onto the pillow.

Suddenly downstairs there was an abrupt sound of someone entering the home. “I’m back!” Mihai could be heard, which caused the two of them to react with a smile on their face. Anastasia nearly got out of her bed herself. She hadn’t seen him in two days due to her being knocked out.

“Ah, no.” Robin pushed her back lightly, keeping her in bed. “I’m getting him first.” She smacked him with a pillow. Robin blocked it with his arm, laughing, before heading out the door. As he got to the staircase, Mihai was pulling off his satchel. He let out an exasperated sigh while putting his hand on his hip. “Long walk?” Mihai turned to look up at Robin, reaching one hand behind to scratch his head. “Yeah, kinda. Locals weren’t having it today.” As Robin went down and approached him, he gave him a quick kiss. “It’s okay, you can rest now.” “Uh-huh, did you even get some sleep like I asked?”

Robin had been skipping common activities like sleeping and getting out of bed lately due to feeling helpless after seeing Anastasia's state. In truth all of them were having a hard time, but Robin tried to stay the more upbeat about everything. Pulling up a front, he thought to himself. Robin nodded, he lied, but he affirmed. “I took a little nap after you left. Anastasia's awake now, so you should go see her before she thinks we’re fucking out here to make her jealous.”

Mihai rolled his eyes but smiled. “You’re an idiot.” Mihai went over to his satchel back and brought out a small bag the size of his palm along with a canvas with a picture of moonlight over water on it.

“There was a festival going on while I was out so I thought I’d bring something for her to cheer her up.” “What you get me?” “My love.” “Oh gee, thanks.” Mihai smacked him playfully, and in response Robin combed his fingers through his hair, messing with it a little, then went up to go see Anastasia. Robin followed after him.

The two entered the room finding Anastasia almost falling asleep again. Her eyes lit up seeing them together. “H-Hey.” She choked, a cough rising up to the back of her throat. She put the soup onto the table, sitting up better for her lungs. Mihai put the medicine and gift down on the bedside, more focused on checking on Anastasia first.

“Fever still here, huh?” “Don’t worry she took some medicine.” Robin affirmed as Mihai pressed his hand to her forehead. He pulled back her hair, looking into her deep purple eyes and gave her a kiss.

“You boys just don’t give a shit about getting sick, do you?” “We can all get sick together then,” Robin rushed forward, pushing Mihai onto the bed with Anastasia, whom shrieked but laughed at them. “Cut it out!” She called out as Robin began tickling Mihai into submission next to her. Mihai laughed and laughed, nearly busting at the sides. He adjusted himself up next to Anastasia to which Robin gave up and went to the other side of her. They cuddled around her, calming down at her expense when she started to cough more. “I’m glad you’re home,” Anastasia said softly.

Mihai pressed his face to her hair, kissing her temple while Robin wrapped his arms around her waist. He listened to the gentle breathing as her chest rose and fell subtlety. From there, the three of them enjoyed each other’s company in light peace.
