Tidbits

"Mother!" A little boy called out as he waved at Orion from across the courtyard. Orion smiled at the child and waved back.

"Mother? You never told me you had children," Nate murmured, brow furrowing. Had his beloved gone and produced a heir with another during his absence? Well no matter, Orion was his and his only now so any former flames didn't matter. He couldn't helped being bothered until Orion's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Well yes, I don't know why that's surprising considering you're the father."

"Excuse me?" was all Nate could could utter.

"In fact, you didn't just leave me with one child," Orion said, motioning towards a maid carrying a little girl in her arms. The maid gently passed the girl to Orion, who let out an excited babble upon seeing her mother.

"You left me with two children." Orion said, cradling the little girl in his arms. "Nate, this is Bellatrix. Bella, say hello to your father."

Bella let out a squeal, reaching out towards Nate. Nate looked at the little girl. There was no denying it, this child was most definitely his, from her raven hair to the tiny horns protruding from her forehead. Orion gently placed the girl into Nate's arms as the little boy came running over.

"And this little one is Betel, our eldest," He ushered the boy closer towards Nate, "Betel, greet your father."

"Pleased to meet you, honourable father." Betel greeted with a bow, wings bobbing up and down from the force of it. Nate couldn't help but smile at the boy who was the spitting imagine of him in his childhood.

"The pleasure is all mine, Betel," Nate grinned, tousling the boy's hair, "Now enough with the 'honourable father' stuff, just call me dad."
