Frozen Treat
"But mamaaaaaaaaaaa." Melody whined loudly. "I want ice creaammmmmmmmm" "Oh, for the love of-!! Melody, stop it!" Clarity pulled her daughter's hands from her dress as they clenched the fabric more. "Don't do that!" Clarity whispered in a forceful tone. "BUT. MA. MAAAAAA!" Melody was getting teary eyed. "Oohhh no no no. You're not gonna do that here!" She pulled her daughter out of Sigil's bakery. Lip syncing "I'm so sorry…" to the sweet, orange haired man.
She sat the little girl down on a bench and bent her knees to be leveled with her daughter's eyes. "Listen, Melody. Professor Sigil has done his very best on those treats in the bakery, right?" "Y.. yeah.." Melody sniffled. "And", Clarity continued, Professor Sigil has always been kind to you too, right?" She nodded softly, murmuring a barely hearable "mhmm.." "So what do you say when you want something else than a tart, Mimi?" "I…. I wa-wanted ice.. ice cream…." Melody stuttered in a soft sob. Clarity moved away the pink curls that hung in the small shark girl's face. "I know, dearie. But what do we say then." "Mama…. C-can I ha-have ice cream.. i-instead?" "Yes, dearie. But first let me pay for the lemon tart I bought for your dad." Clarity smiled softly. "O-okay… C-can I come with?" Melody asked, still half debating whether she wanted to. "Of course you can, Mimi!" Clarity helped Melody off the bench and walked hand in hand with her daughter into the bakery.
"Ahh, you returned." Sigil chuckled softly. That's good because I asked someone to pick up something for you." "For me?" Melody asked curiously. "Yes, You." Was his response. "But Mr. Sigil, why?" Sigil chuckled once more. "Just look inside this little box". Sigil handed a small box to the girl and she looked at him with questioning eyes. "Open it." Sigil said once more. Melody opened the box which was clearly well isolated, and there it was. Two scoops of strawberry ice cream with whipped cream and bunny shaped marshmallows. Sigil then reached into his pocket and gave her a bunny themed spoon. "Are we friends again?" Melody smiled with tears in her eyes and nodded a big yes towards the kindhearted bakery owner. She took a bite from the ice cream and the next 45 minutes were just her, Clarity and Sigil enjoying the moment. Sitting at one of the cute tables He had put down for guests and chatting about the time Clarity was a student. It became a sweet ending after all
