Mice Fruits (Trained Adventurer)

“How did you even get mice in your house? You’re on the fifth floor, how did they even get up there?” Adam asked the blond as he grabbed a few mouse traps, Rai helping as well as his small claws were holding onto a few as he sat on Adam’s shoulder. Adam wasn’t all that still, maybe a bit cranky from being woken up from sleep, but if Rayden called and needed help he wasn’t about to decline his bond partner even if upset from less sleep then what he already got.

“Can I make crispy mice?” Rai asked softly, his booming voice still... booming, but he tried to be gentle to not make the already upset rider more upset.

“Yeah, sure, just the mice though.” Sighing, he supposed he was happy Ray called when he found out and didn’t just wait until the mice were running wild around the apartment. “Though I think they weren’t meaty, weren’t they some sort of vegetation?” Mostly talking outloud, the red head yawned as he stared at the small hoard of traps in his arms. Most of them actually humane traps so they could release them elsewhere or give them to pest control. Being a strange variety of mice, they could just be pets or food that had gotten free and were running wild in Rayden’s house. All he knew was they needed to go, the children begged him so with offers of candy as they didn’t like the odd colored creatures that ran across the floor.

"There's a hole in the floor under one of the kid's beds, I think they came in from the downstairs neighbors." He had no idea if the fourth floor was as clean as their own, but he wasn't sure he wanted to find out. For all he knew, these mice were, as the kids believed, a product of fruits that were so old, they grew legs. He doubted this though even as they had shoved a snickers in his hand to let them call Adam so late into the night.

Even Darkness was on the more fidgety side with the mice though. They were alive and seemed to confuse the dragon with their darting ways. He tried to go touch and pet them, but they even made him sad as they zoomed away from his claws. Rayden was able to feel that the dragon really just wanted to get one to slow down and sit in his hand like the cartoon mouse the kids would watch, but they were giving Darkness anxiety instead. "Go on, why don't you wait with the kids in my room. Bring them the fly swatter and tell them to wave it around if they see something."

Sighing as the dragon nodded and slumped off, Rayden turned back to Adam, feeling bad for making them come all the way out here on a weekday. "Yeah, they're some kinda fruit, there's at least a strawberry and grape one running around." Rubbing the back of his neck, he finished setting up the last of the traps, "Sorry about this, I'll make it up to you, with more than just the candy."

“I’ll have Rai go investigate, who knows what kind of weirdos you have under you.” Yawning, He ruffled his hair as he set a trap down to start setting it up, Rai already scurrying off after Darkness as surely the dragon knew where the mice were coming from.

“Mice for the fire god!” He screeched as Darkness wiggled away with his fly swatter. “I shall make all the crispy mice, delicious toasted mice for meeeeee!” Partially happy to help hunt, and also happy to be playing, Rai vanished with a few more noises as Darkness vanished.

Shaking his head, Adam was still as he saw something small moving. Careful as he watched Rayden set up his own trap before his hand moved and he grabbed a mouse by the tail. It let out an ungodly, gooey sounding screeching noise, but Adam minded it not as he help it up to examine the purple colored mouth flailing about.

“It’s fine, let’s just get this all cleaned out so the kids can sleep...” Holding up the wriggling mouse to Rayden to examine if he so pleased, he eventually dropped it into one of the traps and moved it to where he just snatched that one. “Once we have them I’ll go take them to one of my friends, they’ll enjoy the strange creatures.”

Darkness let out a low hissing sound that sort of sounded like someone taking in a long breath through their teeth. Which might be exactly what they were doing. Rayden could tell that it was them being happy to have Rai along to help make barbeque fruit, but he wondered if the other dragon was able to tell the differences between the shrieks yet. Perhaps by playing telephone with the emotions through their bond, but who knows. Waving the pair off, he blinked when he turned back around to Adam holding something by the tail.

"Huh," he mused aloud, reaching up to poke at the pest's back. Thankfully Darkness had also trained him well to be use to the ungodly noises they made to communicate, so the mouse wasn't too shocking. "Sounds good. I'll go make sure they're scared out of the other rooms." Wandering off towards the hall, Rayden stopped briefly at Adam's side, pecking that cheek before he was off again down the way. They were always going on and on about wanting a kiss whenever he was tackled into the ground, so hopefully that would be a good enough reward for the cranky red head.
