Gwen in the City
Author's Notes
Ummmm..... Hi! I forgot what I was going to write so don't mind this!
A New Life... And a Call from Mom.
Gwen stepped out of her apartment and inhaled the probably-not-clean city air. Only two hours earlier she had received the keys to her new apartment, and she was now headed out to explore. Brushing her red hair out of her face, she began walking towards the city center. She was almost there when… “You have a message from Mom. You have a message from Mom. You have a message from Mom.” Gwen sighed in frustration. The barrage of messages and phone calls had begun. There’s no way I’ll be able to avoid her for the rest of my life, so here goes. “Hi Mom! How’s it going?” There was an overly dramatic sigh of relief before her mother’s shrill voice pierced the air. “Gwendolyn Adele Smith. I told you to call me the second you got off that plane. You could’ve been robbed, or kidnapped, or-” “I’m fine, Mom, I got home safe, and I just finished emailing the movers.” She waited for her mother to find fault with her previous sentence. Sure enough, her mother responded.. “They’re not there already? Honestly, I told those people-” “Sorry Mom, connection’s a bit spotty. I’ll have to call you later.” Gwen hung up, because the connection actually was spotty. Did you really think she would lie to her mother, annoying as she is? Anyway, with that taken care of, Gwen stepped into the city square, ready to begin her new life.
