Autumn is here! (Pacapillar Prompt)

It is the first day of autumn today! A soft and gentle wind blows over the grass, causing a fallen leaf to be freed from being caught. The leaf falls onto a sleeping Qi, who was laying on their hoard of strawberries. It causes Qi to jump awake, looking around their surroundings. It's dark! Why can't Qi see?! In a panic, Qi falls off of the strawberry they were laying on, landing upside-down. Qi flops back onto their feet, looking to the sky. The leaves are very colourful today! It's a mix of red, orange, yellow... Qi stared at them in awe. 'Is it autumn?' Qi thought to themself, 'How exciting!'.

Qi loves autumn, and costumes are one of their favourite parts about it. And... since it's autumn, that means costumes! They skitter off to find materials to make a costume. They can't wait! Anything will do! Acorns, leaves, torn cloth... they just have to make a costume! But... what will the costume be when they get everything? A superhero? A pirate? Maybe a lawyer? Qi's thinking distracts them enough that they run into their first material for the costume; an acorn! Just in time!

Qi picks the acorn up, and continues walking, trying to get the cap off it. A very stubborn acorn cap it was! It just didn't wanna pop off... That won't stop Qi from trying, though! After a few more minutes... pop! They finally get the cap off of the acorn! It's all theirs to use now! They toss the nut away, plopping the cap onto their head. A cute little hat, they thought. Continuing to skitter around, they eventually fall into a hole that was covered by a piece of torn cloth. 'It was a trap!' Qi thinks as they look up out of the hole. At least it wasn't super deep, so they could get out of this easily. As they scurry out of the hole, cloth in paw, they make sure their acorn cap isn't falling off. Once out, they scan over the cloth; while having a but of wear and tear, with some holes and drips in the cloth, it's otherwise perfect! They put the cloth over the tip of the acorn cap, letting it hang off their back like a princess's cap. That gave them the idea for their costume; a princess! Who wouldn't want to be one? With the idea in mind, Qi goes off to find some flowers to put in the rest of the tears. What kind of flowers, though? They have to fit perfectly... Maybe some forget-me-nots? They're small and cute!

Qi heads over to the garden, which is filled with all types of flowers. There's a small, mini-garden that is filled with smaller flowers, which is where Qi wants to be! Gathering up the forget-me-nots, they pull off the cloth and start tying the flowers to the piece of cloth. It was cute! In Qi's opinion, at least. Qi loves flowers. They put the cloth back onto their cap, doing a happy little spin. In their eyes, their costume was complete! It was simple and cute, just like them!

They hurry back home, picking up things they might find useful. Because on the way, they decided to decorate their own little home! It WAS the first day of autumn, after all! Best time to get ready! ...At least for Qi. They hang up some brightly coloured leaves, and then place what seems to be pumpkins at the entrance. ...Then they turn to their strawberry stash. They pick up their favourite berry, and place another acorn cap on it. It shall be Qi's prince! Qi smiles as they lay down with their strawberry prince. It was already a long day, and the day was almost over! It was time for Qi to sleep. Cuddled up to their strawberry prince, they drift off into dreamland, happily dreaming of the days to come during this spooky season.
