Cupcake Paca Catastrophe (Spooky Cooking Prompt)

Qi had some planning to do for a Halloween party coming up in a few days. They had to figure out what kind of yummy treat make to go with the spooky holiday. Oh, I know! I can make apple cider cupcakes! Everyone loves cupcakes! And apple cider!

Now that Qi knew what they were going to make, it was time for them to get started. First things first were to mix the dry ingredients together. Qi grabbed all of the ingredients and poured them all in a bowl. They tried to make sure not to spill any of the wrong ones, or make it so that they didn’t put too much in. Next was the wet ingredients like the milk and the eggs and the apple cider.

When they went looking for ingredients, they made sure that they got all the right ones. The apple cider smelt so sweet and yummy; they were absolutely sure that they got the right apple drink. Next was to add both the wet and dry ingredients together! Qi picked up the blender and started mixing. The blender made a loud whirring noise that disrupted the peacefulness of Qi’s kitchen. It also shook Qi and the table. While the mixing was happening, the batter started turning a light purple. Not a normal ginger brown. Qi thought that was completely normal!

Qi grabbed a cupcake pan and cupcake holders from the cupboard and walked over to the cupcake batter, and poured it in. They turned on their oven to the right temp and it started to preheat. Now it was time to make the yummy frosting. They grabbed the ingredients for the frosting and grabbed a small bowl. They started mixing them together, and ended up with a white sugary concoction. Qi grabbed what they thought was purple food coloring and added it into the frosting. The frosting indeed turned a bright purple color that added to the spooky looking cupcake batter. To Qi, the batter and the frosting looked completely normal.

Once the oven was preheated, Qi put the cupcakes in the oven and started the timer. Qi then walked over to the sink and made an attempt to wash their hands. The cupcakes started to smell really good. The smell also made Qi a little drowsy, but Qi didn’t worry they thought it was just because they were working hard to make these yummy treats.

Beep Beep Beep!! The sound of the kitchen timer awoke Qi from drifting off to the yummy smell of the cupcakes. They grabbed their little paca sized oven mitts, and pulled the cupcakes from the oven. They smelled so yummy! Qi set the cupcakes on the table and let them cool. Qi grabbed the frosting and added it to all the cupcakes. They added all the cupcakes onto a cupcake stand, and hopped around happily. Yay!! I did it, I did it!! Qi was so proud of themselves. They promised to wait until the party to try their delicious creation. They really hoped that everyone would enjoy them!

The day of the party came along! All of Qis friend came by In costumes and brought treats. Qi hopped around happily. Qi was also in a costume! Qi brought out the cupcakes and every paca started to eat.

Qi thought their creation was delicious. But they also started to get sleepy. Everyone else was also starting to get sleepy. Qi was confused. Qi was so sure that they got all the ingredients correct and did everything in the correct order. Looks like Qi’s batter was a sleeping potion. That’s okay! We all make mistakes! Everyone said the cupcakes were still yummy.
