The Land of the Wind colony lives in a rather large territory due to the scarcity of prey in the area. Their lands stretch from the edge of the barren moors to the foot of the great mountains, stretching some way up their rocky cliffs and steep slides but not quite to the towering peaks. The colony is somewhat nomadic, having a number of camps within the territory- this is once again due to the small numbers of prey animals, and rotations occur when prey in one area is becoming harder to find. There are four camps, and while the colony doesn't rotate seasonally (it is not only dependant on seasons, but other factors too) they stay in each cap an average of 4-6 moons. When they leave, some of them always stay behind to make sure their camp does not fall into the paws of an opposing group, whether cats or other hostile animals, though these cats always volunteer to stay or are sick, injured, young, or are nursing kits.

To the north are the mountains. LotW lay claim to the lower regions but do not venture into the higher areas, as they are not well adapted to the new challenges the steep slopes pose. A number of streams run off the hills, bubbling and weaving into a brook that can become a mighty force when the weather permits it. Despite its dangers, this is the main water source for the northern camp, and those who choose to stay there permanently sometimes attempt to fish in its waters, though largely unsuccessfully.

To the east, the land drops away into a steep dip, one that the cats never dare to go down. The territory there seems perfectly usable, a simple forest, but to them it seems much darker and less welcoming than it might to other cats. It is often referred to as the edge of the world, and in living memory nobody has entered its darkness. Some say they see cats wandering its depths yet others dismiss this as a tale used to frighten kits in the eastern camp.

To the south, the rolling moors continue, though they seem to be marginally more hilly than those LotW prefer to guard. The boulders they call home seem to become more sparse, too, which perhaps plays a part in why they have never decided to fight their southern neighbours over this land- it is simply too exposed for their tastes.

To the west, the moors begin to give way to forestland. These trees seem more friendly than those of the west, however, and though this may be ideal territory for some, the trees make LotW cats feel trapped- they cannot hunt between the trees or in the undergrowth since they have never needed to and the general consensus is that none of them would want to, either. They are too set in their traditional ways to change their lifestyle so drastically, just to have some trees to show off.
